Bolting upright in bed I reached for my knife. it wasn't there . looking at my bedside table made me remember that I'm not in the family house . I'm not even in Ireland anymore. america seemed like the best option after the attack but I still have nightmares and even waking terrors . stumbling to the bathroom I wash my face after 'going' I noticed my acne isn't as bad as usual, I smile as I smell mum's food downstairs. "your gonna go down there have breakfast with mum and pa and feel good today" I told my reflection. brown eyes stare back at me just as Sirius-ly . I actually smiled at myself. mostly cause that's not something I generally do. putting on my yellow daisy shirt and black rose pants black socks and three green flower plastic hair pieces and black hoodie and white fingerless gloves and I felt ready for the day. standing at the top of the stairs looking down felt wierd ? . I shook the feeling off and practically ran downstairs for pancakes and well like thirteen other foods. I sat down smiling at mum , she smiles at me ,frowned behind me and then smiled at me again . we all miss Tommy , my twin brother but he's gone and we still have to keep going. mum gave me a heaping plate and I went to the tv room . when she stops frowning at Tommy's memory,I'll eat with her again . pa came and sat with me and we watched animal planet. after I ate I went to my room to finish reading my history book . as I finished I looked out my window and decided it was a good day to finally go outside. pink shoes and my green skateboard and I was out the door faster then my mum could ask . realizing I don't know where the nearest park was and even though it's been three months since the attack I still haven't gotten a new phone, I kinda felt lost . I leaned against the tree it our front yard for what felt like am hour just breathing. " I don't mean to bother you but I saw your board and , actually didn't know I had neighbors until last week, anyways wanna go to the park ?" he asked then realized he hadn't introduced himself"I'm Brian O'Brien and yes it's Irish and Scottish." he held out his hand . this guy got nerve, I like that ." names Carlie O'Reilly,and sure and also it's Irish ." I said in my 'amazing' accent. he stares for about two seconds before he got a puzzled look on his face . " now why does that sound familiar , anywho ya might want yer bike cause it's two miles to tye park. being a snack and a drink it's gonna be hotter them hell today. I'ma get mine now." he went back into his house. " interesting, bossy? helpful? ..... alpha energy but kinda away with the fairies." looking at the cloudless sky,"might be right though." heading to my room "mum would you be amazing and make me a to-go snack and my frozen cup full of body armour please mummy?" I heard her running to the kitchen. woman's been trying to get me outside since we got here . thinks I wasted my summer . doesn't know I've been studying the whole time because school starts next month. I changed into cut off jean shorts and a dark green long sleeve crop top ,long black socks and high top Vans and bracelets instead of gloves ,light eye shadow and red lipgloss and a and a grey beanie over my long low black ponytail . feeling boss I hopped down the stairs and walked into the kitchen to see my mum putting ice pack in the side bags of my lunch box . thank you so much mum I'mma go to the park with my new friend." she smiled so big 'your face is gone rip open' I thought and then giggled. " is this new friend a last or lass?" I smirked "not sure yet haven't asked them , it's kinda impolite to assume someones gender too early?" I smiled, dodged her and ran outside with my lunch and frozen cup . they both fit it the front basket of my bike with my skateboard and favorite book. I got on it a waited for Brian . he came out seconds later with his own lunch setup and skateboard tied to his back pack ." yer gonna love it . oo what book you reading?" he asked seeing it in my front basket. ?" hunger games" I said " now lead I've been inside all summer need wheel time." he laughed then started talking about the whole hunger games series and we talked about it the whole way there. it was a skate/water/community park and had bathrooms and a huge building. "follow me and I'm just gonna tell you your an experience and people might be odd about it . this is the pool house and we have an annual subscription here" he told me walking into the building. i felt cool for wearing my bikini under my clothes . I looked around. the pool was huge and not too many people in it . " an I allowed to swim here without a subscription?" "no but you can go into the water park part right outside. if we stay friends I might be able to add you onto my subscription though now put your stuff in here . this be my locker ." he answered showing me a wall of lockers and pointing his out . I put my lunch beside his and we shredded the park for hours when we stopped and were sitting on a picnic table in the shade beside the water park his friends pulled up in a Volvo. red with two green stripes and an interesting engine I was kinda impressed ."ok I'm 16 how old are you and your friends?!?" I ask flabbergasted as a bunch of guys dresses similar to Brian at least in Thier twenties walk up to us joking with each other. they stopped halfway to us so he explained. " Thier my stoner group . I dated red hats younger sister until I started smoking with him and his friends. she decided she wasn't into stoners at the time and I decided I wasn't into flightyness and we separated happily. we own a business together now . the two fuckers in grey beanies are not my friends, the one in the purple shirt I hate and the in the Green hat is dumb and week to me . I only like Todd he's the one in front hitting joe in the purple shirt for calling him a fag last night ,which he's not, and harping on it today. " he said watching them . when they got done harassing each other they rush and jumped on the table acting like monkeys . Todd stopped dead ,staring at me for a solid ten seconds then asked "do you smoke?" I raised an eyebrow"sure it's been a awhile though. I'll most likely green out." I decided to smoke because I didn't wanna have an anxiety attack from all the unwanted testosterone running through my veins . "well then let's light this fatty up and the go swim . I'm hot!" he bragged to the whistle's from his friends then to my surprise he shoved it in my face saying "lady's first" so I lit it got it going then took a good drag and breathed in then just relaxed without breathing out . I raised my eyebrow. "your nuts lady . baseball guys quick!" the huge joint was passed around until it got I didn't breathe out . when did I just took another hit and passed it . this happened the joint was out and none could breathe from coughing and laughing so hard . it took us tem minutes but we finally got up to go swimming. " so I'm basically just gonna act like I belong here,right?"I asked Brian. he nodded"sounds good to me." he said as we walked in. "your not subscribed here miss . I'll need you to do the paperwork and pay first." a last behind a partition . I almost floundered before I got interrupted by a guy who was already swimming in the pool." I'll vouch for her today Elaine. my friend didn't show." the guy looked 20 and I wasn't interested in swimming with him but I was gonna use it . "cool!" I said softly walking over to him . he swam up to the edge and I squated with my knees in front of me and smiled at him ." I'm gonna take ya swim credit but I'm not interested in swimming with ya and yer mates . is that ok lad?" I said all low and deep except that the last ,I said that cheery/bubbly like while I took off my top . I know even squatting like this my b cup bounced in his face. "also I'm too young for you Hun so thanks ? but I'mma chill with my friends . okay!!!?" again deep them loud cheery . at the same time I stood up and pushed my shorts down . still bent over where I know everyone can see my ass in this white and pink bloches and a green boarder , I untied my vans and took it all off in one motion . my bikini made me definitely stand out against all the blue and purple swimsuits . "okay I respect that babe. knock yourself out I'll be here till closing time."? . I turned around and tossed my things on a lounge chair and fell into the pool to an "oh s**t""my gawd she's crazy""I'm in love" . the pool was great lunch was a blast . we dried off on the basketball court then went for ice cream. for the most part I was just one of the guys stoning and chilling. it was great . we were quite on the way home because we were exhausted. "you wanna come meet my parents tomorrow?" Brian asked. I thought about it"sure,I hope they like me." I went in after that . mum caught me in the hallway to the staircase."how was your day sweety " she asked. I looked at her and could see she was nervous .wringing her hands in the guise of drying her hands on her apron . "give me a minute to change and put my board away and I'll come eat a d tell ya." I said kissing her cheek I headed up to my room . I sat on my bed for second. got and got a headrush,steadied myself and changed back into my morning ? outfit , got that wierd feeling at the staircase again and finally got to the kitchen ."oh ,mum....... I definitely overdid it today . pa I skated and swam and played ball and had a blast bur my muscles hurt super bad!!!" I proclaimed. my mum sat me down with a heaping plate or food in front of me. I ate it all then watched a movie with them . after finding Dory "alright I'ma head to bed I'm exhausted. love you ." I said climbing the stairs . I went to my closet and grabbed jammies and almost puked in the bathroom at the sight of a tampon that missed the trashcan . I pinched it into the can and got in the shower where my skin kinda felt tight so I decided I needed to start using lotion . clean and in a towel I found the lotion in the cabinet and took it to my room where after I put my jammies on I rubbed a little extra lotion on my tummy where I felt stiff and a little bloated .
