What it takes
The room has clean, white walls. It's beautiful and neat, except for the shoes and clothes thrown on the floor. A floor-to-ceiling bookshelf was attached close to the floor-to-ceiling window, which was covered with a curtain.
"Celine!" She rolled on the bed and grumbled as she kept hearing the voice, which was getting closer. Suddenly, the door opened.
She didn't open her eyes, but she knew the person had walked to the window. She groaned as the duvet was pulled away from her head. "What the hell are you doing in bed by this time?"
Inhaling a deep breath, she grumbled weakly with her eyes closed. "Any normal person would be in bed by now, Pat. Just leave me alone." She pulled back the duvet over her head, but her sister quickly grabbed it and threw it on the floor.
"Get up now. I told you we were going to the Shadow Moon Pack tonight for a party. The Luna invited us herself." Patricia said before sighing. "And why is your room like this? What did I tell you about the lights? Stop all this obsession of sitting in the dark." Patricia screamed, making Celine finally rise from the bed. She knew Celine had been trying different methods just to get her witch's power to the point that she'd been sleeping and meditating in the dark.
"I switched it off because I wanted to sleep." She said. "And I'm not going to any party. Do you know how much stress I've been in today? She invited you, not me." She sulked before lying back down on the bed and turning her back to her sister.
"Stress? Did you take one of my spell books again?" Patricia asked, but seeing her not saying anything, she walked into her walk-in closet. She knew her sister wouldn't hide the book in her bookshelf. She's smarter than that.
"No!" Celine screamed as she hurried from the bed to block her sister. "You can't invade my privacy, Pat."
"Where did you hide it?" Pat asked, trying to push her aside, but the girl did not move. "Wait, Pat. Ok, fine. I'll get dressed and follow you." She said with a smile. She knew that was the only thing that could stop her sister from taking back her spell book, which she had been stealing for years to practice with but hadn't worked at all.
Pat also sighed before saying, "Return it in two days. I'll be waiting for you downstairs." She left the room, to which Celine also sat on the floor and groaned.
She was so tired. She thought she would have a long sleep and wouldn't even answer if anyone tried to wake her up, but it was different with her sister. Even if she uses all the locks on her door and still blocks the door with a heavy load, she always manages to unlock it so easily. Making this the more reason she also wants to get her witch power so soon.
Pat is the first daughter of the late head of the witches. She's beautiful. Brown hair and brown eyes, and Celine is her younger sister. Celine has always been called the black sheep of the family because ever since she came of age to use her powers, they realized she was different. She didn't have her witches' powers like everyone else, making her the first. Despite having the unique witch's features. Beautiful with captivating brown eyes and red hair, she still didn't have what was important.
Ever since then, she has been looking for ways to get her powers. She believed she had them, but something was wrong.
She dragged herself to the bathroom to have a shower and get prepared before going downstairs to see her sister dressed in a beautiful long black gown, waiting for her as she paced the room.
"You've got to be kidding, Celine. Don't tell me this is what you plan to wear," Pat asked, running her hands into her hair frustratingly, while Celine was just looking at the clothes. "What's wrong with what I'm putting on?"
"Seriously, Celine. It's a night party, and you're wearing a casual top and trousers?" Pat said again, but just took a deep breath before going up the stairs to her room.
Celine watched her as she left before scoffing. "What the hell is wrong with what I'm putting on?" She asked herself before walking to the living room to sit down. In her mind, she knew the clothes she was putting on weren't okay for the party, but she was the type that hated going to classy parties where you had to wear beautiful gowns. The kind of night parties she prefers are those where you wear tops and trousers, whether long or short, and loud music is playing in the background.
She smiled in her seat as she remembered her sister's face when she saw the clothes she was putting on. Not too long after, she heard the sound of heels coming from the stairs.
"I refuse to get humiliated by you," Pat said, throwing a short-sleeved, long, beige gown hung on a hanger at her. "Wear this. You only have ten minutes."
"What?" She took the clothes, checking them out before looking back at her sister. "I can't wear this. Are you planning to get me hooked up with someone at the party?"
"Celine! You know I don't have time for this. Go put it on right now," Pat commanded.
"There's seriously nothing bad in what I'm putting on." She refused, dropping the cloth on the couch. She knew her sister didn't like someone frustrating her, especially her. Pat would have easily bewitched her and made her do it with no hassle, but it doesn't work that way for her. She doesn't have her witch's powers, but other people's spells can't work on her.
"Ok, please. We're running out of time. I'll make it up to you," Pat said with a sigh, knowing she would have to give her something of hers for it. Perhaps one of her spell books.
"Good. I'll get dressed now." Celine said with a bright smile on her face. She took the dress and smiled at her sister before going back to her room to get dressed.

Their car stopped in front of the Shadow moon pack's house, and Pat got out of the car before dragging Celine with her. "Behave yourself. It's just for a few hours." She said, to which Celine could only roll her eyes.
They both entered the house with another guest, also walking in front and behind them. "Patricia! How are you doing? I didn't expect you would come." They heard a voice say as they entered into the room filled with different powerful people of the pack.
"Good evening, Luna. I wouldn't dare to ignore your invite." Pat smiled back at the woman, who was already holding her hands. They've known each other for years, or should I say, more like Pat and Celine are like daughters to Veronica, the great Luna of the Shadow Moon Pack. Veronica was a friend of their mother, the head witch, when she was alive.
"Is this Celine?" Vera asked, looking at the girl, who was also giving a weak smile behind Pat. "I can't believe she has grown to be this beautiful. It's been so long."
"Good evening, Luna." Celine greeted her with a smile but was surprised when the woman suddenly held her hands and patted her cheeks lovingly. "It's only your sister that comes to visit. You've decided to ignore me, haven't you?"
"It's not like that... It's just work. Celine said with a smile, even though she knew her sister must be rolling her eyes at her right now. How is it her work when she has left her main job to go in search of her powers? "I mean, I've been so busy." She smiled at the woman.
They all talked for some time until Vera excused herself to go talk to other guests.
"Work, huh?" Her sister asked with raised eyebrows, but Celine could only sigh. "I'm not in the mood for this, Pat." She said before grabbing wine from a waiter.
"What did I say about behaving yourself?" Pat muttered under her breath, but loud enough for Celine to hear her.
"Does it also mean I can't have wine?" Celine asked, frustrated at how her sister was acting. She was doing everything she wanted because of Pat's spellbook that was with her. The cloth she was putting on. The party she was at. She hated everything, but because of the spellbook, she kept trying to stay calm.
But just when she couldn't take it anymore and was about to talk back at her sister, she heard. "Miss Mystique, good evening. I wasn't expecting to see you here."
"Mr. Davis. Good evening. How are you doing?"
"I'm fine." The man replied with a smile before looking at Celine, who was standing beside Patricia. "This is Celine, right?"
"Yeah, the Celine mystique. The fake witch, as people say." Celine said before her sister could talk. She knew what her sister was doing. She had been talking to her about Mr. Davis's son for the past two weeks, and she knew it was only to set her up with him. Silence enveloped them, with Mr. Davis looking confused.
"Hahaha," Pat laughed out loud. "Celine sure knows how to joke a lot," Pat said, brushing her sister's shoulders, but Celine was just looking at her with no emotion.
Mr. Davis also smiled back.
"Excuse me. I need to visit the restroom." Celine said with gritted teeth covered with a smile. Her sister also nodded and smiled back.
