AMELIA The door shook, shrieking under Devon's fists. I took a deep breath, trying to keep my panic under control, even as it became harder each passing moment. It's gonna be fine, I said, gripping the curling iron I'd brought a few days earlier and had had the very lucky carelessness to leave there.
