The moon looked pale and wan, as if it shouldn't be up on a night like this. It rose unwillingly and hung like an ill specter. Silhouetted against it, dim and hazy through the dampness which rose from the unwholesome fens, stood the assorted towers, and its moonlight was the only light illuminate the entire room of Liam up to her balcony. Hayley walked to the balcony and inhale the cold breezy air of December as soon as she stepped out from the door.
