"What are you talking about?" The information that Beta Cassian had just given him was beyond his understanding. There had to be a mistake or a reasonable explanation for everything; it couldn't be true. He couldn't be going through this! Even though he already felt like everything was going to end badly, he didn't want to let her go by herself. Now that her closest friend was going through an emotional issue, he was unable to keep her there any longer.
"Easy, Gabe, gather yourself," the Beta said in an attempt to soothe him. Without success.
Zeus partly took control of him, his enraged eyes spitting fire. He also thought the beta was being crass when he broke the terrible news. "I dare you to say that one one time beta and see if you'll still have your head on your neck.
