Around noon, we get up and eat breakfast. Tommy makes a mean omelet. Usually we start getting into game mode about then, talking about who’s pitching and stuff, but I don’t want that now. Tommy respects my lead and doesn’t bring it up, which I appreciate, but I have to wonder at my distance because it’s a first. Even though I’m not pitching today, I’ll still be there for the team. I just don’t want that yet. This series with New York is three games, so we have just two more days, or really, one and a half, since the third is a day game and they leave right after.
