She fought her tears back, she doesn't want to cry. She walked out of the house and started walking on an endless road.
She remembered her happy moments with her mom. She had the best life for those ten years but everything changed after her mother's death.
She doesn't know anything about her father. She tried asking her mother but every time she got silence as the answer.
But, she remembered her mother has a box, which she used to open once in a while but every time she opens she used to cry for the whole night.
So, Hannah believes that box must have clues about her father's identity.
When she moved into her Aunt's house her mother's belongings were snatched by Alexa along with the box. From that day to this day, Hannah is searching every corner of the house for that box.
Hannah came back to her senses upon hearing eagle sounds. She realized she came into the deep woods. She faced palmed herself finding out that she took the wrong turn from her house, which lead her to the forest.
Fear crept into her. She turned around and started taking small steps which converted to big ones and soon she stumbled upon a branch and rolled into a small pit.
She slumped its beat, She closed her eyes and made up her heart to die in these deep woods.
"God, Please forgive my sins, If I committed any" She prayed.
As her body touched the surface, she realized that the pit was not deep for human beings. Slowly opening her eyes, she scanned her surroundings. One side of the pit is a bit lower than the others. She crawled to that side and slowly but steadily tried to crawl out of the pit.
As she placed her hand at the upper level of the pit, Her hand touched an object.
She searched for it, the moment she was standing on the ground safe and sound.
It was a sculpture of a wolf. She glanced at the statue front and back.
"Who left this statue here?" She thought.
There was no sign of humans in that area. So, it might not belong to any human.
Single glance at the statue she got a feeling that it belongs to her. Although the night was dark, the staute's red eyes shinned brighter.
She walked out of the woods with the statue in her hands.
Coming home, she walked straight to her room. Which was the artic if the building.
Placing the statue on the table, she turned around to glance at the clock. The clock showed five minutes to eleven O'clock.
She walked into the washroom, to get changed. Ten minutes later as she stepped out of the washroom the room was dark but two red shining round balls were staring at her.
She reached out for her mobile and the moment she turned the flash light on she passed out of shock and one words echoed in the room.
"MATE"
The red orbs of the sculpture moved around the room observing its surrounding. The first thing that caught its attention was the moon through the window.
It tried to move its hands and legs but it was a futile attempt, In a blink of an eye, the sculpture transformed into a pitch-black wolf. The wolf eyed down its body and was shocked to find its real shape. As it turned around, it saw its reflection in the mirror.
It closed its eyes while fisting its hands and moved its lips as if reciting a spell and soon a frustrated expression appeared on the pitch-black wolf face. It growled in annoyance.
....... There were endless queries in the wolf's mind.
The wolf glanced around the room.
It walked to the window, As It glanced over the moon, its brain was flooded with many questions to which it was trying to figure out the answer when the lights in the room went off, and a door unlocking sound rang in the room.
It turned over and a beautiful woman with a petty figure, hip lengthy hair swinging over her back came into its vision. Thanks to its ability to see in darkness, her hazel eyes caught its attention, and the red-eyed wolf lost in those hazel eyes.
A new emotion, that the wolf never experienced in its life emerged in its heart, and one phrase came out of its mouth, which shocked it to the core.
"MATE"
As the words echoed in the room, it saw the girl's figure dropping to the floor with a thud. The wolf froze in its spot.
"It Can't be happening!!!
It can't be true!!
A human can't be my mate" The wolf murmured.
It was silently staring at Hannah's unconscious form in silence. The wolf has no expression on its face but we can't say its mind is calm.
Surrounded by silence, The wolf realized something, "s**t!!" He exclaimed as he realized he was able to hear its voice.
"What the hell happening with me?" He murmured, as he paced back and forth.
He closed his eyes and tried to mind link over to his beta but failed to do so. He growled in frustration.
He paced over to the bed and sat on the edge and tried to collect his thoughts but he was unable to concrete as his gaze was fixed on Hannah and he was unable to ignore the newly emerged feelings in him.
"I have to move out of the place to collect my thoughts and analyze the situation" He murmured, walking to the window he glazed around the road and found it empty.
He turned around and walked to the door but paused in his tracks. "s**t" He cursed himself walking back to Hannah and carefully picking up her in his arms and placing her on the bed. The soft touch of her skin evoked a different emotion in him, shooking his head, he walked out of the room without turning back.
"I will come back after figuring out what happened this morning," He thought as he was coming down the stairs.
Suddenly, he heard a creaking sound and realized one of the steps is about to break down. He jumped down before he caused more damage.
"These humans and their skills. These stairs can't even bear my wolf's weight" He murmured, glancing at the stairs with disgust.
He peeked out of the door to check the lane, and after making sure it was empty, he stepped out and ran in the direction of the woods.
He kept on running, and after running a certain distance, an unknown force pulled him back with a thud he landed on a wooden surface, and as he opened his eyes he found himself in Hannah's attic room.
His red eyes widened in shock. He could not believe what he was encountering. He once again jumped off the stairs and ran into the woods, at the same spot he was once again pulled back to Hannah's room with the same force.
After several attempts, he paused for a while to catch his breath as he gazed at Hannah.
"Who in the world are you?" He asked the sleeping Hannah. "I never came across this kind of spell" He murmured.
He strode to her and began to examine her face and hands for any specific marks. "No marks or signs are referring to chances of her being a witch.
She looks like a normal human" He wondered about the cause of the weird happening to him.
He walked out of the room and made his way to the woods but this time he stopped at the place from where he was pulled back previously.
He sat on the stone and gazed at the night sky. The woods were filled with darkness that no passerby can locate him if not for his captivating red eyes.
He let out a sigh as he closed his eyes. It is becoming hard for him to accept the situation he got trapped.
Twelve hours ago, he was traveling in the woods to meet his friend from his neighborhood pack.
There was peace in the werewolf world resulting in good relationships between different packs.
"Lorenzo, What are you going to do?" He mumbled. "I would be mortified if my pack would see me in this condition."
"How are they going to react if they got to know their Alpha is trapped in his wolf form and a human girl is controlling him and that girl happened to be his mate" He shook his head, trying to crease his imagination away.
"MATE" This word got stuck in his mind and heart.
"I have been searching for my mate for ten years and today......... " He paused, as he remembered the sadness he suffered in those ten years. He was disheartened and thought the moon goddess forget to give him a mate.
He would be lying if he said he never blamed moon goddess. Every year he would go on traveling around the other packs in search of his mate and every time he returned with dismay.
All these years watching his friends find their mates and get married to them while some of them even have children. He felt happy for them but deep down he felt emptiness.
For a year he even gave up on searching for his mate and concentrated on his duties of being Alpha. This year there were some internal issues in the pack that caused him to stay in his pack for the whole year. If not for the letter he got from his friend, he would not have left the pack alone.
Suddenly, A memory surged in the back of his head. "The last memory from the morning was a sharp pain in my back and after that, I remembered being in that room"
The next instant he tried to check his back for an injury as he no longer was feeling the pain. There was no evidence of an injury on his back.
"My conditions have something to do with that pain but how come that human is linked in all these events" He was confused. "And, If she was my mate.
What I am going to do next?
Human mate is rare"
He was lost in thoughts when the first rays of the rising sun hit him, he disappeared in a blink of an eye.
*******
The strong rays of the sun from the window forced Hannah to open her eyes.
She glanced around the room while rubbing her eyes to eject her sleepiness, the clock read quarter past eight. She stepped down from the bed and saw her mobile lying on the floor
As she thought back to the cause, the memories of the night came back causing her to become horrified.
She got panicked and was about to run out of the room but the moment she held the doorknob, she changed her mind and hide under the bed.
Hannah thought she could be safely hidden under the bed but the sight in front of her frightened her to the core.
There in front of her eyes lay the same wolf statue with those red eyes wide open.
To be continued......
