What happened after my mating ceremony was something that I had expected. Daniel was furious and what made me even more happier was that he couldn’t do anything to me.
I had the support of not only the werewolf council but also my mate, Xander, who everyone knew would not think twice before ending Daniel’s life.
Daniel had only one choice and that was to see his power slip in front of his own eyes. I knew he was not going to back down, he was silent but that meant that he was brewing a new plan to uproot my life or to drag me where he wanted me.
But I would die before I would go back under his thumb again.
On the other hand, Logan was distraught, he was looking hopeless and embarrassed. His father didn’t even try to console him. My heart ached for him when I saw him but in another second it hardened thinking about what life he had planned for me.
He deserved no sympathy from me, nor did he deserve any position.
Maybe it was karma, he tried to take everything from me and now whatever he wanted in his life will never be his.
No Luna for this discarded Alpha.
I chuckled without realizing it.
“Something funny mate,” Xander whispered.
I forgot that I was still in his arms, his hand was branded like steel on my waist, and whenever I tried to move away from him, he dragged me back and tightened his grip.
His deep blue eyes were fixed on mine, and I looked at him in a daze.
There was something peculiar about his scent and his eyes, whenever I look at them I forget who I was or where I was.
I just wanted to keep looking at them.
“I think we should leave, I am not much welcomed here,” Xander said, loud enough that everyone could hear him.
A hushed whisper spread throughout the hall.
This broke the spell and I took a deep breath.
“Yes, we should,” I answered him and smiled at him.
This was a charade, I wanted everyone to believe us and if the way we both ignited during our kiss was any indication, then maybe a lot of people were falling for it.
His beta arranged a car for us and we both started to leave.
Before leaving I turned around and saw something, Lizzie glaring at me.
She was a dangerous woman and a powerful one too.
But what a shame she couldn’t teach her daughter anything other than her silly trick.
I waved goodbye to her with a sweet saccharine smile, Maybe she will burn in hell or maybe I will beat the devil to it.
I smirked and sat inside the car, mentally congratulating myself for creating a new reality for myself.
We were on our way to Xander’s pack, Silver Moon Pack. According to the agreement, I would act as an ideal Luna and fulfill my duties alongside Xander.
This was not a big deal, because I have trained to be a pack’s luna from a young age. I also had a management degree so things would be easy or they would be if Xander kept his nose out of my business.
As we left my pack ground and entered the territory of Silver Moon pack, my heart raced in my chest. I couldn’t believe that I was entering the rival pack and not only as a visitor but as their Pack’s Luna.
This felt weird and more than weird I was scared. Accepting me would be difficult for them.
Oh my god.
I couldn’t believe myself.
What if I had traded one hell for another?
This was an impulsive decision and I had to bear the consequences.
As Xander parked the car, I couldn't help but steal a nervous glance at him. His strong jawline was tense, his deep blue eyes scanning the surroundings as if he were assessing the situation.
He must have sensed my unease, for he turned to me and asked in a gravelly voice. "You okay?" he asked, his voice soft.
I swallowed hard and nodded, though I wasn't entirely convinced myself. "Yeah, I'm just... I didn't think we'd actually do this."
Xander chuckled, his fingers brushing a lock of my chestnut hair behind my ear. "Why, do you regret your decision now?"
Before I could reply to him, he brought his mouth closer to mine and whispered, “Do you regret baiting me or luring me in your trap? Is all your bravery turned to ash in front of my pack?” his breath fanned across my face, I closed my eyes.
I couldn’t think of anything else other than his lips on mine, but the implications of his words were clear to me.
I opened my mouth to answer him but before I could do or say anything he took my hand and got out of the car.
The moment we both stepped into the Silver Moon Pack's entrance, we were greeted with thunderous applause and cheers. The pack members had gathered to welcome their new arrivals, their faces lit up with excitement and curiosity. It was as if the entire pack had been waiting for this moment, and I couldn't help but be overwhelmed by the warmth of their reception.
"Welcome our Luna!" Xander's words ignited the atmosphere on stage. I began to feel excited and nervous about the changes that were about to come my way.
