~Alec's POV~
Royals...
Why the f**k they are here?
Our topmost royalty, the werewolf king, Alpha Noah Black very well knows how much love we hold for each other. And queen...
"You better control your thoughts near her," Kylo muttered sitting attentively in the back of my mind.
I thought my wolf was giving me cold shoulder until today.
"Done giving silent treatments?"
"Hold your tongue, pig-headed kid! I'm here for father!" He barked.
I was always told that our wolves are our best friends but my wolf was nowhere near my best friend. He is just an old hag in a form of a wolf.
I moved to my office where my unwanted guests were waiting for me and found Reed standing outside with a frown sitting on his face.
"As far as I'm aware, we didn't do anything to deserve this lovely visit. Or we did?" he asked.
Even being in the situation that I try never to find myself in, I smirked, Reed is my beta for a reason. Instead of inquiring about his doubts out loud, he mind-linked me. The people behind this door must be a ray of hope for others, but for us...they are the ones who ruined every single ray of happiness in the Cohen family.
I shrugged my shoulders at Reed's question and stepped into my office where I was greeted by calm yet dangerous smiles. I am aware of this look of Blacks well. Smiles on their faces but hatred and anger swirling in their veins and eyes.
Anyone can tell that they didn't come here to have a cup of tea, there is some serious issue that I have no idea about. But whatever it is, I'm sure my pack or I have nothing to do with this. He was just hitting his first favorite target, the red river pack.
"Or do we have? Did he find out about her?" Kylo raised his worries.
Dang, it...I didn't think of this. Did he? I hope he didn't.
"Let's cut the crap and move straight to the point. Why did you try to get your hands on her?" Noah Black asked as his gaze pierced my skin.
I'm glad I'm wearing shoes right now, his piercing gaze was making my toes curl and my hands turn into fists. I might be alpha but he is Noah Black, the most feared wolf of our race and the werewolf king. He radiates something that no other alpha does and this is the only thing that somewhere makes me admire him a bit.
Fuck! I don't think this way I'll be able to take my hatred out on him ever.
Wait what did he ask? Hands-on her?
Damn it! He f*****g knows!
"Are your hearing senses gone kid? Did you not listen to what the king just said?"
Queen's cousin brought my attention back and I tried not to make anything obvious. I don't know what they know or how much they know but one thing is for sure, I'm not going to confirm any of their suspicions.
"Hands on whom?" I asked playing dumb.
Queen sighed, "You know what Alec, I'm trying my best not to invade your privacy. We want you to tell us the truth. Why did you attack the Wood family? What do you want from them? And don't try to lie, we've been given your clan's flag as proof."
Wood family? Why in the world I will attack them? Heck, I don't even know them.
"Like father like son." King scoffed.
"Don't you dare take my father's name!" I growled.
In a flash moment, I was pinned against the wall by none other than the werewolf prince. Asher looked straight into my eyes, his eyes burning red and his canines out, his voice deep as the color of his red eyes, he said, "Don't you dare speak to my father like that who is your king as well."
"Ash..." the king called his son back but his eyes didn't bother to return to their normal color.
"Anger. That's what we experience when our father gets involved in situations for no reason. And about the Wood family...I know nothing about them." I confessed as I straightened my shirt.
I thought they found out about my little secret. But thanks to the moon goddess it's not that.
"Don't lie!" Queen's nephew, Evan growled and stood in front of me. "You killed my mate's family and were trying to harm her."
I'm sick of this drama happening at my place. All of these people are trying to intimidate me in my own territory. They should leave soon before I do something I'll regret for the rest of my life.
I gave a low warning growl to Evan to step back but he growled louder than me and his eyes turned pitch black.
Reed stood between us, "I think someone misguided you. We are not aware of who your mate is and we don't know the Wood family either."
I nodded in support of Reed's statement while eyeing the prince and his cousin. We have nothing to do with anyone named Wood and neither we have any reasons to attack anyone. We are good as we are.
None of them seems convinced by our words and Evan seems on the verge of losing his frame of mind. They are somehow convinced of I attacking them and want me to confess a crime that I didn't even commit.
Seeing Evan's rage and my rigidity, King asked, "Last time kid. Tell us the truth."
There is no point in giving the same answer over and again. I shook my head and looked at his wife who was shaking her head, "Let's go. He is telling the truth. Maybe someone tried to misguide us knowing our past strings with each other."
Each one of them was looking at each other and by that, I can tell they were mind-linking each other. I was always pissed with her mind-reading ability but this is the first I'm a bit thankful to her. I can't see them standing at my pack land anymore. They already polluted enough environment in my pack.
I restrained myself from sighing, did I have fewer roller coaster rides today that Kylo also started pacing in my head? I didn't even take a breath of relief since these stupid royals are still standing here and here my wolf is spinning in my head like crazy.
"What happened Kylo?"
He ignored my voice and I felt a hand on my shoulder. Reed tried to talk to me in our link but Kylo made it difficult to focus on anything.
My head was spinning with all the swirls in my head and my eyes started to feel heavy along with my breaths. What is happening to me? Why I'm having difficulty seeing and breathing?
I can faintly see Blacks making their way out of my office after giving me a warning that I better not have anything to do with Evan's mate otherwise the outcome will not be good. As if I am not aware of this already.
Before Asher could open the door, the door burst open and my eyes widen. No...not her...
Our eyes locked with each other and all of my blocked sensations came back to living. Her green eyes stared right into my soul and I can feel the atmosphere changing around us. A soft smile played on her pink plumped lips as she looked at me with so much love and admiration.
"What are you doing here?" Asher's voice took me out of the deadliest moment that I've ever experienced.
"Wanted to join all of you..." Her angelic voice...damn...how the hell I got into this?
Kylo...he, damn it!
"You weakened my senses for this!" I roared on Kylo.
"Respect Alec! She is our mate!" He roared with the same energy.
She can't be my mate. No matter what, I will never accept her. EVER.
I glanced at everyone and then looked straight into her eyes, "You got your answers. It will be best for all of us if we stay at our place only. No one, no one should ever come back to my place unless it's a matter of life or death."
