Chapter 9Arran made more coffee and then went to curl up on the living room couch with it. Marek had vanished into his study for some reason, and Arran wasn’t going to question him. Arran needed space to think about what had happened. The fact that somehow all of this, all that had happened to Elena’s and Marek’s packs, was because of Arran. He couldn’t even begin to guess what he had done to this kid that made him hate Arran so much. He’d used the words “lure you out.” As if Arran needed to be drawn out. Couldn’t he just have contacted him the old-fashioned way? After half an hour or so, Marek wandered in and came to sit next to Arran.
