Chapter 9

-Ezekiel-  “Go on. Choose what you want.” I say.  Aurora looks around the clothing store.  “And are you sure you have the shillings to purchase this?” She asks.  “Money? Yes.” I say.   In the afternoon we are heading to my old friend Ron Pelesky’s home. Not really my old friend but I can’t wait to see his expression when he sees us. I allowed him to live back in the lab because I was distracted by the princess I had just found.  Aurora needed clothes so that is what we are doing now.  She looks at one of the mannequins that has a thick winter dress on but it is short.  “Is that really allowed? It’s so short.” She says.  “You should see how some women dress in summer... you’ll have a heart attack when you see what a bikini is.”  Her eyes widen, probably imagining it.  “Have you ever tried pants?” I ask.  “I have seen women wearing it like Theo... are they comfortable?”  “You know what? Let’s try a bit of everything.”  “For God's sake! We are going to be here all day, aren’t we?” Wolf complains.  “No one told you to come!” I shout.  “You said there'd be food!” Wolf shouts back.  “Yea, later.”  He growls annoyed and leaves to wait outside.  Aurora giggles.  “Wait wait, was that a giggle?” I ask giving her a smile.  She smiles and looks away. “You two are funny.”  That makes me really happy. I give her another big smile while I walk by her. I start grabbing a lot of stuff and I can see that she looks a bit scared to try them.  When I am done, I lead her to the changing room and she looks like she has a question but doesn’t want to ask.   After a few seconds, she looks determined and asks “Is this like a... horse barn?”  I bend over laughing.  She looks away looking embarrassed. “Don’t laugh at me.” She pouts. “This is all new to me.”  I take a deep breath. “I’m sorry but... why would you think that? Do you think that we try clothes on while horses are watching us? Why a horse barn?”  She pouts and now looks angry.  I take a deep breath. “I don’t mean to make fun of you. You are just too cute.”  Her face almost burst in flames with how red it turns, making me chuckle.  “But no, it is not a horse barn. This is a fitting room. You try clothes on in here before you buy them.”  “Oh...”  As much as I want to keep laughing, I hold it in and start to hand her clothes.  “I’ll be behind this door.” I say.  I wait outside for a few minutes.  “Are you okay?” I ask.  “Yes... just figuring out if I am putting it the right way.”  “Are you fully clothed?” I ask.  “Yes.”  I open the door, go in and close it behind me while she squeals and covers her chest, though a shirt is over her chest.  I look at the long pants and nod. “Looks good.  I look up at the nice shirt she has on but she is covering her breast area.  “I don’t have a corset on.” She says.  “Oh... this...” I take out the bra from the pile of clothes and show it to her.  She looks at it with confusion.  “What is that?”  “This is what women use now to support their breasts.” I say.  “But... how! How does that small thing... how do you use it?”  I show her how to put it on from over of her clothes and I have to say, it is really hard to contain myself because she is a beautiful woman.   “Like that.” I say and turn around so she can put it under her clothes the way I taught her.  And if you think I am not going to peek, you are wrong. I’ve already seen that body of hers naked and I want me some more.  I wait until she has the front covered and when I know she is about to do her back, I turn around and take the straps from her. She looks startled with her eyes wide but doesn’t complain. She lets her hands fall and lets me do it.  I look in front of us where our reflection is at and my eyes fall to the bulge of her round breasts.   My hand lets one of the straps go and I softly let my fingers caress down her back. She swallows and her lips tremble, my eyes never leaving hers.  As I stare at her through the mirror, I lower my head and glide my nose down her neck. Her skin shivers.  She stares at me and doesn’t look scared, in fact, she looks like she wants this.  My lips hover over her skin and barely touch her.  Her eyes become hooded and she starts breathing deep. My other hand goes to her waist. I slowly pull her back against my chest and my mouth settle in between her neck and shoulders. My teeth graze her skin and all I want to do is sink my fangs into her, wanting to taste her again.   My fangs instinctively come out and I know she sees them through the mirror but she doesn’t seem to be afraid. In fact, her harm goes up and behind my neck where she pulls me closer to her. My mouth opens and as it settles on her neck, I do well not to bite, instead, I kiss. She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath but then at that moment, the door rattles and she jumps away from me.  “Oops sorry didn’t know anyone was in there.” A female voice says.  I internally sigh. Closing my eyes, I completely pull away. When I open my eyes, Aurora is looking down with reddened cheeks.  I sigh again and then I grab the straps from her back and hook them.   I was never going to bite her. In humans, my bite can turn them or kill them but I don’t know what it would do to a witch. This is why I only drink from bags unless I have no other choice.  I step back from her.  “Let me know if you need any more help... especially with the underwear.” I say now giving her a smirk but inside I am pissed at whoever interrupted.  She looks away from me completely flushed.  After a while, we finish and head to eat and this puts Wolf in a good mood.  “Alright so at twelve in the afternoon, we head to his house, right?” Wolf asks.  “Yes. Apparently, he always goes home to eat lunch.”  “Good for us. Anyways I talk to Theos doctor this morning. She’s still out. She hasn’t woken yet.” Wolf says.  “She’ll be fine. She’s a strong human.” I say. “I know, it’s just that we need her.” Wolf says.  He is right. She is the brain. The one that makes everything run smoothly.  (I truly hope that we don’t majorly screw up.)  When we are done, we head out.  “Time to visit our friend.” I say.  Wolf rolls his eyes.  We drive for almost half an hour. When we get to Ron’s home, we see him get out of his car and he starts walking towards his house.  When we get there, I look back at Aurora to see her squinting and holding her stomach.  “Is it starting again?”  She nods. “Yes, but I’ll be fine.”  I put my hand over hers. “Are you sure?”  She smiles and nods.  I nod and get out.  “Ron! My man!” Wolf says nonchalantly walking up to him.  Ron looks at him and studies his face.  “Sorry but I don’t know you.” Ron says but then looks at me and his face goes pale.   “Please don’t hurt me!” He immediately shouts.  “Ron, Ron, Ron... we won't hurt you as long as you tell us what we want to hear.”  “Anything.” He backs up to a wall trying to stay away from us.  "Okay, first things first. I don't suppose that you know what your employers want to accomplish?" He shakes his head. "I don't have clearance for such information." "Yea I figured but thought I asked. Alright, so right to the point." He nods waiting for my question. “The book.” I say.  “The book?” He asks.  “The book you and your colleagues are looking for.”  “We... I … I … we don’t know where it is. We haven't been able to find it.”  “Ron.... come on you have to know something.” I say.  He shakes his head. “No, we don’t know anything.”  “Then you were as useless as trash. I’ll just eat him.” Wolf says.  “What!?” Ron shouts.  Wolf starts to half shift, showing his fur and his fangs while he growls.  “Well, there you go. He likes to eat liars.” I say.  “No! No wait!”  “Yes?” I ask.  He takes a deep breath.  “Well... we... we have a report that in the nineteen hundreds, our employers excavated on what once used to be the property of the Sibyl family. We found many things but not the book." “What does that mean?” Wolf asks sounding irritated.  “It means that someone got to it before we did.” Ron says, still trembling.  Aurora gasps and we all look at her.  “Hey! You are the missing asset!” Ron says.  I look back at him and give him a warning look.  “... I mean... I... I’m mistaken.”  “Yes, you are.” My voice is low but then I suddenly smile. “Alright well, Ron, it was nice seeing you, buddy.”  “If someone comes after us, we’ll be paying you a visit again...and not a pleasant one.” Wolf says.  Ron nods like a bobblehead toy.  We leave him and quickly drive away.  “Well... that was useless. We are back on square one.” Wolf says as he drives.  “No, I think I know who took it.” Aurora says.  “You do?” Both Wolf and I say.  She nods. “I’ve been having these visions of the book, Mathew and Andrew.”  Both Wolf and I are in the front and we both give her questioning looks waiting for her to elaborate.  “Mathew was my sister's fiancé and Andrew was his brother. I’m not sure why or how they would have it but... I know they have it... had it. It has to be them... maybe my sister Beatrice told Mathew about us.” She says now looking like she is thinking. “That still leaves us with the question of where it is now.” Wolf says.  “I’ll give Marco a call. Let’s see what he can find.” I say.  I look back at Aurora. “Lie down and rest.”  She nods and does just that.  When we got to the hotel yesterday after the hospital, we were in a rush and they only had one room with one bed in the middle and a sofa on the side. Wolf chose to sleep on the floor so I took the sofa that was next to her bed. Throughout the night, I could hear her getting up. I know she wasn’t able to sleep well and I don’t blame her. She must be scared.   When we get back to the hotel, I give Marco a call and explain to him what we found out.  “Alright, let me see what I can find. Hopefully, this Mathew and Andrew lived a long life and have a long family line.” Marco says.  “Man, I really want to go home already.” Wolf says sitting on the sofa but I ignore him as I continue to talk to Marco.  I sigh. “Let's just hope so." I say to Marco. "Thankfully the pain she had yesterday went away, so I assume it hits differently every time. This time was mild but next time could be worst.” I look at Aurora peacefully sleeping on the bed.   “Maybe we should look into alternative reliving methods for the pain, just in case.” Marco says.  (Alternatives... maybe that could work.) I think about it.  “That’s good.” I say. “Thanks.”  I hang up and am about to sit but suddenly, Aurora starts screaming. We turn to find her thrashing on the bed, screaming in pain.
