Chapter 18

2039 Words
-Abigail POV-    As I turn the radio dial looking for a good song that is not rock, Wolf gives me these low growls. I like rock music but it has been nonstop. I like to have variety.  I ignore him.  “That thing is making its way to me. Put it away.” He says looking at Leon.  I glance at him while he drives and then at Leon who is on the dashboard, slowly making her way towards Wolf’s side.  I roll my eyes. “She doesn’t bite... much.”  “If I squash her, that will be on you!” He says.  My eyes blaze. “You do that and I will eat you alive!” I growl out.  “For goddess's sake! Fine! But it better not touch me!”  He turns back his attention towards the road, pouting.  After a few minutes, Loen is almost near the stirring wheel.   “Abigail...” Wolf says with a warning.  I giggle and pick Leon up.  “Come on sweetheart, sometimes grown-ass men are just... pussies.”  “How the f**k did I get stuck with you?” He almost shouts.  Neith—my wolf— chuckles in a sensual way at his outburst.   I know for a fact that she wants him. She has made it clear since we met him. If she could imprint, she would have done it already but we can't, so all I can do is tease him.  We wolves imprint to claim who we want as mates. It is a complicated thing.   But honestly, though I don’t show it, I wanted him too since the moment I met him. The man had me from the moment he growled at me. In my pack, most of the men steer clear of me since I have terrorized them since I was a child. So having someone as attractive as Wolf be a bit aggressive towards me, turns me and Neith on, and because of that, I don’t know how to properly interact with him other than teasing him or making him angry.  “What?” I say. “Are you like... in love with uncle Z or something? Did you really want to go with him that much?”  He grunts and looks away while I give a satisfied smile.  I give him a side-glance and look at his arm. His deltoids and biceps are huge. His tattoo dances as his muscles move. It is impossible not to notice how muscular this gorgeous man is. He has light blond hair and light green eyes, a strong jaw, and a short stubble around it.  I quickly look away when he is about to glance at me and now, I feel him staring at me.  “What? Are you in love with me now or something?” I say looking out the window.  I hear him cursing under his breath.   Neith giggles. ‘We should seduce him.’  I am actually liking her idea.  ‘Let’s make him ours.’ She says in my head almost moaning.  I give Wolf a glance who is looking angrily at the road.  I hold my laugh with a big smile because I really like the guy.  ‘Let’s do it.’ I say.  “Should we stop to eat somewhere?” I ask.  He instantly perks up. “Yes. There’s a diner right there.” He says and pulls up to the Parking Lot of a place called Flo’s diner.  We head inside, sit and talk while we look through the menu.  “So, who are you exactly?” I ask him.  He lowers his menu down and looks at me confused. “What do you mean?”  “I mean, who are you? Is your name really Wolf? What pack are you from exactly?”  He looks a bit flustered at my questions. His eyes go back to the menu.  “Never had a pack. The Academy took me in when it opened.” He says.   “You are a rogue then?”  “No. I come from a pack but I left at a young age and lived in the city.”  “Why did you leave?”  He glances at me and goes back to his menu. “There is no sob story to this. My parents died, they were warriors and died in a rogue raid. I was not a pack person, so a year later when I turned seventeen, I left. The Academy took me in and after a year there, I joined Ezekiel’s team.”  “Oh... well I always thought of the Academy as a pack for those who don’t have one. They take almost everyone in so that counts.” I say.   The Roma Academy is a college. They have different programs for different races since we are all different but it mostly creates a home for those that don’t have one.   “I guess.” He says softly.  The waiter comes and takes our order. Once the waiter leaves, I go back to converse with Wolf.  “So that’s how you know uncle Z, from the Academy.”  He nods. “Yea.” He says.  I nod.  He looks at me and I look away with the intention of letting him get a good look at me. I can feel him staring at me so I make a subtle move and lower my shirt so it shows my cleavage more. And I know it works because I can feel him staring. I give him a glance and his eyes are on my breasts. He quickly looks away and tries to act normal.  Inside, Neith is giggling.  The waiter comes with our food and we start eating.  Wolf is so into his food that he doesn’t notice me staring at him.  I think it’s so cute how much he loves food. I find it almost adorable.  My phone starts to ring, taking me away from my thoughts.  “Well, daddy’s calling me.” I say.  “Your dad?” He asks.  “No, my sugar daddy.”  His face falls and looks shocked.  I start laughing at his stupid expression.  “Yes, my dad you dummy.”  He closes his eyes and shakes his head while I pick up the call.  “Abigail! Where are you?!” Dad asks with an angry tone.  I give a fake laugh. “Funny story daddy... I went on a small vacation.”  “Abigail...” He says with a warning in his tone.  “Okay okay, the truth is... well... I met this guy and we kind of eloped, his name is Wolf.”  Wolf starts choking on his food.  I bite my lip trying to hold my laugh.  “For goddess's sake Abigail... if this is true, I will kill him!”  I gasp. “I am going to tell aunty May you want to kill my mate! She will take my side.”  Daddy sighs. “Abigail! You better be joking about this!”   I start to giggle and he gives another sigh of relief knowing that it is a joke.  “Where are you?” He asks.  “Sorry daddy, my boyfriend is calling me. Gotta go.”  “Abig-”  I hang up on him and silence my phone. If I tell him where I am, he’ll be here by tomorrow to drag me back home.  I look at Wolf who is still coughing but is now calming down.  I lift an eyebrow up. “You okay there?”  He takes his cup and starts drinking... more like chugging it.  After, he takes a deep breath and looks at me. He shakes his head and squints his eyes at me.  “You are a trouble maker.”  I smile and lean my cheek on my hand as my elbow rests on the table.  “No... I'm just naughty.” My voice as a hint of seduction.  He realizes that I am saying it in a flirty way and he suddenly gets flustered.  “Uhm... well... yea... you should finish your food.”  He seems like this alpha type of man—I mean his personality— but he is almost... shy.   ‘I think we intimidate him.’ Neith says.  ‘It would seem so.’ I agree with her.  A thought comes to mind and I know I should ask.  “You don’t have a mate by the looks of it but are you seeing someone?”  He stops eating and stares at me for a few seconds.   “No...” He says and looks away. “...are you?”  I smile as he purposely avoids eye contact. “Nope.” I say.  “Do I make you nervous?” I ask, being blunt.  Now he looks at me a bit taken aback by the question.  “Why would you?”  I stare at him with my fingers intertwined together and rest my chin on top of them while my elbows are supported on the table.  “You can’t seem to look at me for too long. Are you shy?” I ask.  “No!” He almost growls out and then clears his throat. “I’m not shy.”  “How old are you?” I ask.  “Twenty-seven. What is it with the hundred questions?!”  “Just getting to know you.” I smile.  “Why?”  “Just because...” I continue to smile not really answering the question. “Are you always so grumpy?”  “Yes.” He says and looks away.  “What is your wolf’s name?”  He looks back at me as if he is studying me.  “Tyr.” He says in a baritone voice. There is no anger, just his normal voice.  ‘Tyr... I like it.’ Neith says almost purring.  I smile. “Neith says she likes it.”  “Neith? Your wolf.”  I nod.  Wolf narrows his eyes at me. “Why are you being... nice?”  “Well dummy, we got off on the wrong foot.” I say and continue the next part of the sentence at a fast pace. “I think is good to get to know each other plus my wolf wants you.”  He stares at me for a few seconds almost like he hasn’t caught up with what I said yet and then his eyes widen.  I smile looking at his expression. I can tell he doesn’t know what to say. He looks away with a grumpy look.   “I... just... leave me alone.” He says.  Now I am the one narrowing my eyes.    (I just told him I want him and that is what he says?)  “No.” I say sternly.  He gives me a side glance. “You are annoying, you know that?”  “Actually... I have heard that a couple of times but back to the conversation. I said my wolf wants you, and that means that so do I.”  He completely looks away. “So?”  “So?... You dumb wolf. You think you are acting cool but you are just being an i***t. I know you like me though you try to act like you don’t. Why do you do that?”  “You are delusional. I don’t like you. I never would. You are like a child and I like women.”  My eyes blaze.   ‘He is ours! He better get with the program!’ Neith says sounding pissed.  I get up and pull him by his shirt over the table with a bit of noisy clatter from the dishes and then lock my lips with his.  He tries to pull away because of the surprise but then, stops fighting and kisses me back.  ‘See... mine.’ Neith says.  He moans into my mouth and so do I. The kiss is simple but it is delicious.   I slowly pull back and stare into his hooded eyes, then, he pulls me towards him and crashes his lips on mine again.  Aunty May was right, male wolves are dumb.  (For those that haven't read Amber Eyes, male werewolves in this world imprint on the mate that their wolf chooses and that creates a mate bond)
