PROLOGUE
I shuddered when he shut the door behind him.
"I promised"
"You did", I couldn't believe he was here. In this room. With me.
He had come after everything I had done.
"Why?"
I wanted to know so bad.
In a slick venomous way, he crawled to the bed's end, "Can I sit?"
I was half naked in the mattress, wrapped till my navel, dazed, curious and .........aroused.
Something this man created with his mere presence.
I showed no sign of remorse, though my feet were moving. My face was inched above in confidence, despite everything I had done. Burned his company down, betrayed his mother's facade to the world and killed his dad.
He showed nothing but oblivion.
So I nodded softly.
He sat down, few inches away from me and took in a deep breath.
My nose twitched at the usual scent of flowers on him.
As rough and heinous as he was, he invoke the sensation of warmth, tenderness and ....home.
Though neither of us knew what it was, we both craved for it.
As much as I did of him in my bed tonight.
"What were you doing?"
He sat with his face turned to the window- since my cold nude body was heating with his monstrous shadow within my bedroom walls- and softly spoke. The tuxedo embraced his biceps, a portion I had managed to devour within eyesight, which I was envious of the lush Gucci fabric, and his long lean legs that could crush my neck in a b*****b.
The thought itself caught my heart racing.
"I was...sleeping"
He shifted a bit more away from me.
"I heard.......everything"
Oh, he should.
Everybody knew about it before he did.
Despite the six months, we lived together, I had managed to wreck his life...and make it bittersome.
As much as I despised him, I wanted him closer to me.
Though that wasn't my entire intention at all.
"Do not deviate or distract from your aim", as Nexa said.
"Why are you here, Vamos?"
He winced at the mention of his name.
"I shouldn't be?"
I shook my head. My eyes met his every feature. His jaw clenched.
"I wanted to see you"
Lucid, Levelheaded, Lustful.
"Me? For an apology?"
He instantly strained his neck to meet my eyes.
Turquoise jewels shone brightly, flames of anguish burning in them.
"No. I missed you"
My heart sank.
No.
"No"
"That is a lie"
He nodded, "If you say so"
Standing up, he made his footsteps to leave.
I felt the world drift apart from me, like Titanic preparing to sail, far off from its onshore.
Any moment, he walked away from me, I would sink.
But I didn't stop him.
Until he reached the door.
However, instead of leaving, he locked it.
And turned around to face me.
"Vera"
"I love you"
