“I hope you’re having a lovely day, Mr. Sage,” she said, her eyes down, her cheeks flushing. “I am now, Mrs. Livingston.” So it continued for the next few weeks. Every Tuesday Sarah came into the store to buy goods. On Friday she would show up because she had forgotten to get something or other on Tuesday. Each visit lasted no longer than five minutes, and very few words were exchanged or at least verbal words. It is amazing though how much can be expressed through glances and smiles.
