Chapter SixBettina stood on deck to watch the yacht come into Port at Southampton. She was feeling relieved that the voyage was now over. There had been a tension that was unmistakable ever since they had reached calmer waters and Lady Daisy and Lady Tatham had risen from their sick beds to continue fighting each other and fawning over the Duke. Sir Charles was aware, although Bettina was not, that the main reason now for their animosity was that each of the ladies was certain that the Duke was bestowing his favours on the other. Actually he spent most of his time either on the bridge with the Captain or in his own sitting room.
