Robert pulled me back as I had broken down. What was really going on and why did my mother hang herself?
Robert pulled me out of the room but I fought him and stayed though he warned me not to touch her.
He gave the police a call and they said they were going to be there in a few minutes.
This was strange, normally when people hang themselves, they left behind suicide notes but my mum left nothing. I checked her phone for any reason that could have pushed her to kill herself but again there was nothing. Was it because of my dad being dead and her realizing she couldn't live without him but why suicide....why?
I eventually left the room and went to the living room not having changed my clothes. Robert gave me coffee then sat right opposite me. He was devastated I could tell but one of us had to be brave to handle the situation especially when the police came in. Maybe i was still in denial I don't know but all these was difficult to deal with.
The police took around an hour before they got to my house and when they did, they went straight to my mother's room to check what had happened...
Officer: step back!
He ordered the rest of us as he went and untied the rope on my mother's neck. The rest of the officers were checking around the house and I don't really know what they were looking for.
Officer: who else was here besides her?
Robert: we don't know. We had gone out and when we got back, she was hanging here.
Officer: has she fought with anyone over anything that you might be aware of?
Me: no Sir.
Robert: what has fighting got to do with this?
Officer: this was not suicide, this is murder.
Me: what?
Robert: murder,... how?
Officer: check around her neck. These are marks of someone's fingers trying to strangle her.
I got down to check if what the police officer was saying was true and to my shock it was.
Someone killed my mum then hanged her on the rail to make her look like she had committed suicide.
The police brought her body down and covered her in sheets then carried her away claiming that they would carry out more investigation as they tried to figure out who killed my mother and the motive behind it. They also said that a postmortem would be conducted to see what really killer her.
The reporters had Camped at my place and they were asking a lot of questions regarding my father's death and now that my mother was really dead, I could not sit back and do nothing. What had happened to my family had been termed by the journalists as tragic. I was mad and scared at the same time. I did not understand anything..
I watched my mother being taken away as I tried so hard to hold back my tears. Robert and I were taken by the police to go and record a statement and we had no choice but to abide.
I called Della on my way to the police station just to inform her of what had happened and she told me she was on her way.

"You missed a simple target" Willis said grabbing the gun from Jabali and checking the bullets.
Jabali: he was not within my reach.
He defended himself taking a seat opposite Willi's chair.
Willis: those are costly mistakes you should avoid. What if he saw you?
Jabali: he could have spoken by now and again, there were a lot of guys during the strike, he couldn't have seen me.
Willis took a seat and leaned forward looking him in the face.
Willis: Jabali, I hope you are not holding back because you think you can save Owen. Whoever gets in my way goes down with him. I hop you know that..
Jabali: I'm here, working for you, taking orders and doing exactly what you ask me to do. isn't that enough reason to trust me, what's with the threats?..
Willis: if you wanted to kill Owen you could have killed him. You have never missed a target from that range.
Jabali: do you want me to kill Owen, should I make that my priority now?
Willis: no. Let him bury his dead first. The rest we can take care of as we take over the company from him. I am a candidate for his fathers seat, taking the company from him will be like taking candy from a baby. Owen knows nothing about the company, he only knows how to operate on people. You on the other hand have a better chance of taking over the spot that Robert hold. I can get the board to vote against him.
Jabali listened to Willis carefully following the agenda that he had. Jabali worked with Willis but he had no idea of who he really was until now. He was willing to do anything to get rid of Owen and because Jabali feared for his life, he was willing to cooperate as long as Willis didn't have his head along with Owen's...
At the police station, we were taken in for questioning and that was conducted by one not very friendly looking officer who sat across the table and watched our reaction keenly as he asked us questions. Were we suspects in my mother's death?..
Officer: you said you were not in the house when this happened, where were you?
The officer asked ready to take note of what we were going to say. Robert cleared his throat and leaned forward.
Robert: we were at Mr. Gerald's place earlier today before we got a call that there was a strike at the company which is owned by the late Gerald and I'm also an employee there.
Officer: which company is that?
Robert: GnW oilers and gas limited.
The officer looked at Robert surprised at the mention of that name.
Officer: you mean the famous GnW?
Robert: yes.
There's something I noticed about these officers. They realised you are cashed they treat you slightly differently from the way they treat the rest of the guys and if who we were was going to work in our favor, so be it..
Officer: okay, sorry for your loss. Who were you with that afternoon?
Me: him and my girlfriend and we all left the house as my mother was asleep in her room.
Officer: so the deceased is your mother?
Whoever said the cops have a lot of questions did not lie. He was with us when I was crying over my mother and now he was asking if she was my mother.
Robert responded to that then the police asked where Della was and said he wanted to question her too I mean what had she to do with my mother's death yet she was not even there?
Della was at the station a few minutes later and I had to take her in for questioning as Robert waited outside. Della didn't have much to say because she left even before we did and no one saw anything. The CCTV in my house was altered with and when the police checked there was no footage. This could have been well planned but by who?
On our way home I tried to reach Willis again and this time he was not picking my calls in fact he didn't pick until he saw the death of my mother on the seven o'clock news then he said he was on his way to my place...
Robert was to go that evening but when he heard Willis was coming he said he would stay the night. Della had already left as she was going for some baby shower thing with her friend Talia.
Willis showed up an hour later and was acting all sorry and stuff but Robert didn't seem convinced. He sat on my father's favourite seat and watched us have a conversation with Willis promising to cater for all the funeral expenses for both my mum and dad..
Willis: I know you don't have much at hand but I know your father would do the same for me had I been the one in his place. I'm sorry about your mother too.
I was getting tired of hearing the "I'm sorry about your mother and father" thing. Where was he when I needed him, where was he when my father got killed?...
Robert was right, Willis could not be trusted and I could tell that he was hiding something by the way he was talking...
We finished up with Willis and he left having concluded that he would buy both coffins and cater for the expenses.
Robert and I had a plan. A plan to unveil what Willis was up to but first we needed him to finish the burial logistics then we would pick it from there. He didn't owe my father nothing. Everything he was planning to do, my father deserved...
Three days later I got a call from the mortuary where my mother was so I called Robert to meet up with me. We were going to see the pathologist so that he could tell me or rather us the police included what really happened to my mother before we found her hanging by the window.
I got to the mortuary and the officers in charge of the case were already there..
The pathologist took us to the room where my mothers body was and he started explaining to us what he thought might have taken place.
Pathologist: the deceased was strangled to death before she was hanged.
Me: how certain are you it wasn't just the rope?
Pathologist: there was a bit of a struggle then in the process she scratched whoever was strangling her.
He showed us underneath mums fingers and there was dry blood.
Pathologist: we will have a DNA test of everyone that was in the house conducted and see if it matches the one on your mother.
Me: you think one of us killed her?
Officer: everyone is a suspect. It could be one of you or maybe not but we will find out who the DNA on your dead mothers finger matches....
Robert looked as surprised as i was. Could ot be that someone had found their way to the house when we left, or was there someone hiding in her room and killed her as soon as we left. Who had killed my mother and why?.....
