CHAPTER 9
Thursday afternoon
LACHLAN:
"I'm here to see Sabrina Fletcher." I wait. "Again."
My body is vibrating with fury. The too-silky-sweet voice on the other end of the receptionist's desk does nothing to put me at ease.
"I'm afraid I can't let you see her. It's past hospital visiting hours, sir. I'm sorry."
"Actually, yes, you can," I state to the woman staring up at me on the other side of the table. "I've already been here once today."
"And I know that, sir. But hospital visiting hours have been over for several hours now, and more than a few people have been calling asking to see her since she's no longer in surgery."
I make a half nod and grunt.
"You don't seem to understand me, so I'm going to try again. I'm here to see Sabrina Fletcher," I mutter again, glancing at my w
