CHAPTER 6 SABRINA I'm still shaking after he's gone, breathing so rapidly that my chest rises and falls as if there's no air left in either lung. My heart—which was doing just fine in my own body, is now thudding so loudly in my ears that it's nearly impossible to hear. It's so loud I can barely hear Dr. Patel's sage-like voice in my head, talking about how great I'm doing at handling my “condition.” I'm still shaking as I push through the crowd and back out onto the dance floor.
