Mansion in the Forest

SHE'S A MONSTER

In the middle of the dark, behind the big oak tree, under the dazzling moonlight, Lexi hides while holding the kid gently but securely against her arms, his hand covering Herlie's mouth while her free hand holding the sword.

"Lexi!" Chantelle's voice echoed in the dense forest, birds flew in the sky, strong winds blew up, rustling sounds of the leaves and trees bumping their heads against one after another as the wind swayed them. "You can't hide from me!" She growled while continuing searching around the darkness and using the moonlight as the only source of her light to have a vision of her surroundings.

"I knew it." Lexi mumbled under her breath. She looked down to the kid she was holding and bent over to level her. "Don't be scared, I'm not a bad person." She whispered. "I'm going to remove my hand please don't make any sounds." She added. Herlie nodded her head and Lexi slowly removed her hand. "You have to stay here no matter what and never go out, okay?"

Herlie nodded again but her body trembling in fear because she's out of the woods in the dark, wherein she clearly knows that it's dangerous to be outside because there are monsters around.

"Lexi!" Chantelle shouted again, she's heading to their hiding spot.

"Stay down okay? Don't go out." Lexi repeated and the kid obliged. She picked up a rock and threw it in the opposite direction which caught Chantelle's attention and she ran towards it. Then Lexi quickly ran to follow the girl and when she saw Chantelle, she leaped onto her but Chantelle felt her presence and she dodged Lexi by jumping. Lexi's sword pierced on the ground but quickly pulled it out. "I know you're a spy."

"Spy for what? I'm just running after you because you took the kid." Chantelle scoffed but her body is instance of fighting.

"Oh come on, stop spitting lies. If you fooled Jisu, then not me."

"You're crazy, just give back the kid—."

"Shut up." Lexi cuts her off and she charged forward to Chantelle, but the latter leaped off quickly to avoid Lexi's attack and she hardened her hand and her claws came out before she spun around and successfully scratched Lexi's back. "Ugh!" Lexi grunted but she didn't let her guard down as she stood up again and turned around to face her opponent.

"My gosh, Lexi." Chantelle laughed mockingly as her claws slowly vanished while hiding her hand behind her. "I don't want to fight you okay? Just hand me the kid."

"You're one of them!" Lexi shouted at her, trying to recompose herself as she could feel the excruciating pain on her back.

"I don't have to admit it, I just want the kid—."

"You'll never take her from me." Lexi growled at her.

"Fine." Chantelle sighed in defeat. She straightened her body and twisted her neck. "I just want the kid but your stubborn ass doesn't want an easy way."

"Tell me, Chantelle." Lexi huffed a sharp breath. "What do you want from the kid?"

Chantelle looked around first, just to make sure that no one was around , then her gaze shifted back to Lexi and she smiled.

"Do you even know who that kid is?" Chantelle asked back.

"Of course, my blood runs in her veins." Lexi shrugged her shoulders.

"Oh I see, so you are also Sitrus' daughter. Wow, I can't believe that priest, how many women did he banged while hiding in that cassock?"

"I don't care and I don't want to know either, but he's a disgusting man." Lexi growled. That's right, she knew that her biological father is Sitrus. He disobeyed their law in the church that no one who served the Lord had i*********e.

He had a secret relationship with one of the church servants and unexpectedly got pregnant. When Citrus found out that his girlfriend was pregnant, he ordered that the woman be killed but she escaped from the hands of the people who were ordered to kill him.

Several years later, the woman sent her kid to the orphanage because she thinks that the kid is the bad luck in her life and she wanted Sitrus to feel the same miserable life by sending the kid to him and that kid was Lexi.

Lexi knows everything about her true identity, but never brings it up to anyone, even to Trevor. Until one night, she caught his father with another servant, years later, Herlie was born in the mansion. Uncle Sam took her to hide since Father Sitrus wanted the kid to die just so his innocent reputation will still remain. Lexi knows all of that but didn't say anything again and chose to hide it for herself.

Until one day, Jazen's sister and a guy brought the Queen of the monsters and the most horrifying event happened when the monsters attacked the mansion, all the kids died, the servants, Jazen's sister, the guy with him and Lexi's father. They were all eaten by monsters.

Another year later, Trevor and Lexi were sent to another orphanage as they were the only survivors at the incident. Then Trevor got adopted by gay couples, Lexi grew up alone in the orphanage but soon left when she's old enough to find a decent job. They never talked again about the incident at the mansion and decided to forget about it, but little did Trevor know, Lexi continued garnering information about the incident ten years ago.

Until one day, there were Hunters who got lost in the place where the mansion is, even though it is strictly forbidden to go to that place, they were forced to enter and create a blog about it and posted it on one social media platform. Lexi watched it carefully and one camera accidentally caught a man near the mansion wearing a uniform of some construction company.

It's complicated but Lexi found the company, then started asking about the mansion using fake identities. Until she ends up at the person behind everything, which leads to Sakura. She started going to training where Sakura was looking for teenagers that she will send to the mansion and she knew that she won when she saw those guys waiting outside her small apartment.

There's only two missions she wanted to do for going back to the mansion. First, find the first monster and kill it, second is, take back her sister and leave. She wasn't really expecting to see all of her friends inside which made her plan to get ruined.

As the day passes by while trying to survive inside the mansion, she notices a lot about the certain girl with them. Who never got attacked by the monsters and it was Chantelle. A monster itself hiding inside the body of an innocent teenager.

"Look Lexi, I know you wanted to save your sister but if you take her with you, how will you raise her? You don't have a job, your mother is dying in the hospital, you broke up with your rich girlfriend and your best friend is dying."

"You don't have to worry about how I would raise my own sister." Lexi scoffed and she positioned herself for another attack.

"Lex, we don't have to fight. Just give me the kid."

"You're a monster, what do you want from her?!"

"She's.." Chantelle paused and looked around again. "She's ours, she belongs to my kind!" She said frustratedly.

"In what way? She's a human! She will never belong to your kind!"

"I deadass thought that you know everything, Lex. But it's not." Chantelle said she was about to attack Lexi but there were rustling sounds and rushing footsteps towards them. "Give me the kid now!"

"No! You will never have her!" Lexi insisted stubbornly. They both snapped their heads when Herlie screamed. "Damn it!" Lexi groaned and she ran as fast as she could to where she left Herlie, same with Chantelle but when they arrived at the said spot, they both stopped when they saw Jisu, holding Herlie in her arms.

"Jisu." They both said in unison.

"Are you two crazy?! Why did you run in here with Herlie!" Jisu growled at them.

"Run! They're coming to us!" Denver shouted and when Lexi looked up, she saw everyone running to their direction with Uncle Sam, carrying Trevor with him.

Chantelle was about to grab Herlie but Jisu grabbed her hand and Herlie's hand before she dragged the two with them and they started running. Lexi meets Uncle Sam halfway to help him carry Trevor and they follow Jisu.

"Where have you been, Lexi?! Are you okay?" Trevor asked though weak, but still worried for his best friend.

"I'm fine." Lexi short replied as she looked to her side to check on Jazen. "Are you okay?"

"After breaking up with me? No." Jazen scoffed and rolled her eyes.

"Come on, just put that argument later, we have to look for a hiding spot!" Siena scolded the two.

"Quick! Here!" Iris yelled when she saw a cave. She leads the way inside using the candle she grabbed before running out from the small house. "Is everyone here?" She asked.

"Yeah—." Denver was cut off when Lexi spoke.

"Jisu! s**t!" Lexi exclaimed when she didn't see her friend and her sister with them, even Chantelle. She was about to run out of the cave but Jazen stopped her from doing so and covered her mouth when the monsters passed by the cave. They waited until the heavy footsteps were gone and Lexi removed Jazen's hand from her mouth. "I need to find Jisu."

"But it's dangerous outside!" Jazen whispered hard to her.

"She's more in danger being with Chantelle!" Lexi said before running out and Jazen didn't get the chance to stop her this time.

"What did she say about Chantelle?" Iris asked. "What's wrong being with her?" She added but they just shrugged their shoulders.

"She's a monster." Uncle Sam said.
