CHAPTER 1
“Get down Krystal! We are under attack!” Were the words Krystal Bloodfang managed to hear before an earth-shattering explosion rocked their cabin to its foundation.
Krystal's ears rang from the explosion, and she could barely see her sister, Sage, in front of her as her vision swam.
Her brothers, Troy, Ryker and Levi had rushed out prior to subduing the attack, instructing them never to come out no matter what.
Krystal managed to grab on to her sister but not out of fear. She was a Bloodfang and her pack consisted of the most powerful werewolves in the universe. What could she possibly be afraid of?
“Our brothers will take care of those intruders in no time.” Sage said in an annoyed tone. Who wouldn't be angry when they were roughly woken up by intruders in the middle of the night?
The two sisters held on to each other as the fighting began outside. They could hear the growls and snarls of wolves and the clanging of weapons against flesh.
Krystal and Sage decided to look through the window to get a glimpse of what was happening outside, and a horrified gasp escaped their lips.
Their brothers, who were supposed to have god-like powers, were beaten up by mere werewolves.
Troy and Ryker had shifted to their wolf forms and their snow-white fur was already stained with blood. Levi had not shifted, but in his human form, he was a bloodied mess.
His shirt had been ripped to pieces, and he had cuts and gashes all over his entire body.
“I cannot believe my eyes.” Sage gaped, looking pale as a sheet just as Krystal's heart rate sped up in total panic.
“This is impossible,” Krystal gasped, unable to take her eyes off the morbid scene in front of her. “We are Bloodfangs. How can we be defeated like this?” She muttered in disbelief more to herself than to Sage.
“Something has to be wrong. I’ll go out there and check it out.” Sage whispered, closing the windows and Krystal held on to her elder sister’s arm instantly.
“I’m coming with you.” She said and Sage whirled at her with a stern look on her face.
“No, Krystal. You will stay here, alright? Don’t come out no matter what happens and if I tell you to run, you run. Is that clear?”
Krystal’s eyebrows furrowed in displeasure. How in the hell was she supposed to sit back and do nothing while her siblings were out there fighting for their lives?
“Promise me, Krystal,” Sage said frantically. “Promise that you will not come out and fight no matter what.”
Krystal let out a sigh. She didn't want to make that promise, but she had no choice.
“Fine. I promise.” She said.
Sage flashed her a small smile, ruffling her hair before dashing out of the cabin.
Krystal's heart pounded heavily in her chest as she looked through the window.
Sage joined the fight instantly and Krystal watched with glee as her sister tore into the men like they were nothing.
A proud smile graced her features. That was the way it was supposed to be.
They were Bloodfangs, a pack of Alpha werewolves, specially created by the moon goddess herself.
They couldn't be killed by ordinary werewolves. It was unheard of.
She watched as her sister fought valiantly, destroying everything in her path, but soon, about a dozen werewolves surrounded her.
Krystal couldn't clearly see what was going on but her sister's scream of terror rang clear in the area. Her instincts screamed at her to run out and join the fight, but she made a promise to her sister and she wasn’t one that broke her promises.
So she waited, muttering a word of prayer to her creator, the moon goddess, to please spare her brothers and sister’s lives, but it looked like the moon goddess wasn’t listening because at that moment, Sage, in her wolf form, was lifted in the air and to Krystal’s horror, her head was severed from her body.
Blood spluttered out from her neck and Krystal watched in horror and disbelief as her beloved sister’s head landed with a thud on the ground.
A shriek nearly escaped Krystal’s lips, but she covered her mouth instantly as her body trembled in fear and rage, but it looked like the intruders were not done.
Krystal could do nothing but watch as the monsters gutted her brothers one by one, their red blood splattering all over their silvery white fur.
A small gasp escaped her lips as tears stung her eyes. She couldn’t believe it. Her siblings were dead. They had been killed right in front of her.
Her body shook as she sank to the floor but the moment she did, she crashed against a ceramic pot, knocking it to the ground.
Her body stilled as her eyes went wide with terror. That was a loud crash. There was no way the intruders did not hear the noise.
Confirming her suspicions, one of the intruders shouted, “There’s someone inside! Quick! Go after them.”
Krystal didn’t waste any time. She got up from the bed and did the best that she could do at that moment. She ran.
She raced through the back door with her heart hammering loudly in her chest. Yes, she was a Bloodfang, one of the most powerful beings in the universe, but so were her siblings and she watched them get butchered so easily.
Among the Bloodfangs, she was the weakest. If her siblings could be taken down so easily, then what would they do to her? Who in the world were those monsters anyway?
She didn’t want to find out, so she ran, but she didn’t get really far when she heard crashing and swearing behind her. The intruders had found the back door, and they were now coming after her.
Krystal let out a loud scream as she felt a sudden excruciating pain in her back. She looked back and, to her horror, she saw that a large spear had been impaled into her back.
