“Then what have you planned?” Mina enquired.
“He has sent a telegram signed with the name of Papa’s secretary in London saying that plans have been changed and the carriage will come for me tomorrow.”
As if she thought that Mina could hardly follow what was arranged, she said,
“But, of course, the carriage that arrives here will not be Papa’s but one that Harry has hired. I shall then drive not to our house in Grosvenor Square but Hawkston House. Harry’s father is not in London and from there we will set off for Rome first thing in the morning.”
“It sounds very complicated to me,” Mina said. “You are quite certain you will not be caught?”
