The soldiers the King of Ndida sent to the boundary arrived but couldn't find anyone. Dike was no longer there and neither the Tigers nor his horse was found. But the soldiers saw the footprints of the Tigers. They equally saw the footprints of the horse and the footprints of Dike but there was something strange they saw on the ground of the boundary. There was the footprints of the dreaded children of the darkness. The Children of the darkness were ancient ghosts that came into existence to support evil in the land of the living. Now that the Legendary Sacred Tiger have started to destroy the humans, the Children of the Darkness were out to support her. They got the information first about Dike and went before the Soldiers of Ndida to the boundary and took Dike away. Their footprints were not hidden in the soil. The soldiers had no choice but to return to Ndida. Deep in the evil forest of Ndida Dike was seen lying helplessly on the ground. It was the ghosts that saved him from the beasts but were determined to keep him as their prisoner. *************** Nwanyi learnt about this and knelt before the King of Ndida and begged for his forgiveness. "I'm sorry your Highness. I have long denied the children of the darkness what they crave for. I know what they want and I will give it to them at last" Nwanyi wept. The King stood up and placed his hand on her shoulder and assured her that her sacrifice will not be in vain. Nwanyi dropped her sacred staff of protection, left the Palace of Ndida and entered the evil forest alone. There she met with the leader of the ghosts. "You finally came?" The leader asked her. "Yes. Finally I have come. Stop fighting against the humans and stop helping the Sacred Tiger to destroy the world by keeping Dike here. You know what he is. Let him go and take me in his place" Nwanyi sounded quietly. The leader of the ghosts sighed and said to her surprise. "We will help you great Priestess. You have suffered enough because of us. The former king of Abiam banished you because you wanted to get rid of us from this world. We were his backbone and he used us to commit grave crimes in Abiam but We have changed so much ever since then. We don't want to continue being enemies to the humans but its good to see you accepting the fact that ghosts are more powerful than humans. We will help you" Nwanyi was in tears as she knelt and thanked the ghosts. They woke Dike up with their magic and Dike was shocked to find himself in the midst of strange beings. The leader of the ghosts told Nwanyi that they had to go back to Abiam, into the Sacred Cave of the Sacred Shrine where Onwem has become a powerful worshiper of the Sacred Tiger. Nwanyi told them that she had to take Dike back to Ndida first before embarking on the journey to Abiam but the Leader of the ghosts said to her , " Ndida is about to fall. As we speak, thousands of Tigers are advancing towards Ndida Kingdom. We will help escort you to Abiam" "Why Abiam of all places? Dike asked. "Because you need to face your lover Onwem to be able to stop this" Nwanyi replied him and they set off to Abiam with the ghosts protecting them. Ndida was now burning down to the ground as the Sacred Tiger was at work. ************* The road to Abiam was filled with blood mouthed tigers and dead bodies. Dike and Nwanyi, in the company and protection of the Children of darkness made their way invincibly to the Sacred Cave of the Sacred Shrine of Abiam. In the Cave, Onwem sat like a statue and was enchanting strange words. Her hair had grown thicker and her eyes darker. Her lips were dry and it was obvious she was suffering under the b*****e of the Sacred Tiger. ************** In Ndida, the Sacred Tiger suddenly received a sign and she knew at once that Dike was on his way to Abiam to put an end to their existence. The meeting must not hold, else the Sacred Tiger would be sent packing out of the surface of the earth alongside her army of savages. The Sacred Tiger was now on the mission to prevent the meeting. She left Ndida at once with her army of endless hungry tigers and made their way to Abiam. Dike, Nwanyi and the ghosts arrived in Abiam Sacred Cave after a long journey. They were about to enter inside the cave when they started hearing the mighty footsteps of the tigers descending from Ndida, being led by the Sacred Tiger herself. "She is personally coming to stop us" Nwanyi remarked with fear written on her face. "Yes. You must run inside the cave with Dike, we will try our best to hold her off" said the leader of the ghosts. Nwanyi and Dike ran inside the cave. The ghosts stood their ground to face the legendary Sacred Tiger as she approached in her glory.
