The Journey 1

The man with no mouth and no nose left Edim kneeling beside her dead mother back into the inner cave. Edim sat beside the corpse and waited. Suddenly she heard voices from the inner cave.

"She has special powers. Destined to bring glory to Aha people but now that she has come to us first we will take advantage of that glory" one of the cave people said.

"If she could hear the voice of the being without mouth then she is the chosen one; still she has made a promise and a promise is a promise"

Another pointed out.

"Give her the powers she seek. Posses her and let her travel to her destination. We will hold her by her own words in future" another said to the man with no mouth and no nose.

The being stepped back to where Edim was but she was gone, leaving her mother's corpse behind. Edim eavesdropped on their discussion and decided to believe in herself more than she ever could believe in the powers of the cave people but the cave people had their rules. One can't make a requests of them with a promise and go with nothing. They decided to posses her.

Edim was walking in the woods hastily when she looked back and saw her dead mum running towards her. The woman was screaming and begging her to stop. Edim couldn't believe it. Her mother was dead for long to rise again and better. She hesitated.

"My daughter, how could you leave me. I was only sick and not dead. The cave people have saved me. They told me the request you made of them. They want you to believe in yourself and the gifts you already have. Please my daughter I have missed you. Come to mama" the woman cried.

Edim looked at her for a while and couldn't stand the tears of her mum. She went closer to her and saw with her gifted eyes that the man with no nose and no mouth was living in the flesh of her dead mother. She wanted to retreat but it was too late. The demon escaped the woman's flesh and pushed Edim to the ground and started making love to her. The dead woman fell back to death. Edim's eyes became red and the man after a while stood up and disappeared.

In the great pillars of the palace of Etto, the golden prince entered his mother's chambers and the numerous servants attending to the woman bowed and gave them privacy.

"I want to go hunting mother" the Prince said.

"I know. You are your father. He always loved hunting. This is your first time of hunting. We will celebrate it when you return with the head of a lion" the woman said and gave him a nice smile

The golden prince kissed his mother on the cheek and left with his armour and his big sword. Ten great soldiers of the palace rode off with the prince for the hunt.
