Lynn giggled as she helped Calista to construct tiny windows in the enormous sand castle. Alexis rocked backwards on her heels, staring at the celebrity with a mixture of confusion and awe. Lynn was certainly easy on the eyes, that much Alexis could not deny. The revealing crimson bikini left very little to the imagination; with its one-size-too-small cups and skimpy bottoms that left half of Lynn’s tight ass hanging out each side. Alexis willed herself not to stare, but Lynn’s body was far too distracting. Since Lynn was busy helping Calista, Alexis allowed her gaze to linger for longer than it should have. After all, what was the harm in admiring her from afar?
Lynn’s flesh glistened beneath the brightness of the midday sun. A deep tan covered her entire body with a radiant glow, enhancing Lynn’s natural beauty. Alexis wondered if the supple skin would be soft to the touch, she imagined that it would feel like velvet beneath her fingers. Small freckles dotted across Lynn’s chest and Alexis wondered if the rest of her breasts were equally as blessed with the small spots. Her clit ached when the image of Lynn standing before her naked flickered into her mind. She watched Lynn’s slender arms reach out and trace intricate patterns in the sand with a single fingertip. It was obvious by Lynn’s rippled abs that she worked out a great deal. With her celebrity status, Pilates and yoga were probably involved in her regime. Alexis shivered at the realization of how flexible that body would be in the bedroom. Her eyes widened and she shook her head, trying to push away the s****l images that danced within her mind. She blinked, attempting to refocus her attention on Calista. It had been so long since she had even looked at another woman with hungry eyes and that alone terrified her. Lusting after some stuck up celebrity was completely against her beliefs.
Calista became engrossed in digging a small moat around the castle, giving Lynn a chance to turn and talk to Alexis. “Thank you for allowing me to join the two of you today.”
“I couldn’t say no to Calista.” Alexis smiled when she watched her daughter’s tiny fingers dig carelessly into the sand. Her clit still ached, especially when she met the pools of deep chocolate. She swallowed, reminding herself that Lynn was a celebrity, which meant she was off limits and not worth the waste of time. “I still don’t understand why you would want to spend your day off building sandcastles. It doesn’t seem lavish enough for someone like you.”
“Maybe I just didn’t want to be alone,” Lynn whispered. Her fingers traced a small circle in the sand and her eyes remained focused on the ground. “I really should be going. It’s clear you don’t want me here. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.”
“No,” Alexis reached out before she thought and touched Lynn’s hand, stilling the wandering fingers from their rapid circle motions. “I mean,” she quickly pulled her hand away, still feeling the burn from touching the supple skin. “You’re welcome to stay.” Alexis grew quiet for a moment as she watched her daughter turn to Lynn and sprinkle a handful of sand into her lap. She could not wipe the silly grin from her face when Lynn laughed and tickled Calista’s tummy. The sweet scene between her daughter and the vivacious Lynn made her heart thunder. “How is it that you’re so good with kids?”
“I’ve always loved children,” Lynn smiled when Calista climbed into her lap and made herself at home. Her tanned fingers ran through the soft blonde curls when Calista’s cherubic face stared up at her with a wide grin. “And this little one is cute as a button.” Wrapping her fingers around the tip of Calista’s nose, she tugged gently and giggled when the little girl squealed with delight.
“She’s my little princess,” Alexis leaned over and pressed her lips to Calista’s cheek. Calista scrambled from Lynn’s lap and turned her attention back to the gigantic sand castle. “She’s my whole world,” Alexis admitted with a sigh, watching her daughter’s arm motions as she went into pretend play mode. There was not a single day passed by when she did not thank her lucky stars for the amazing gift of her angelic daughter.
“I can see why.” Lynn turned to smile at Alexis.
“Listen, I’m sorry that I called you a jezebel last night.” Alexis cringed at the memory of the words she had used the previous night. She knew she had been ruder than normal, and for that, she truly was sorry. “It’s just—this case has been so stressful and when I saw you out there…” shaking her head, she looked at Lynn with a frown. “I had no right to say such a horrible thing to you.”
“You’re right. You didn’t.” Lynn stared straight at Alexis as she spoke while maintaining a level tone. “But…I’ve been called worse. The tabloids make me out to be a complete whore.”
“Yeah, I’ve seen some of the headlines.” Alexis narrowed her eyes, focusing on Lynn’s with curiosity. The brown spheres of color flickered with a golden hue and the sadness that lingered within was clearly visible. “How much of what they say about you is really true?”
“How much of it do you think is true?”
“I—” Alexis looked back to her daughter, seeing that she was still content with playing in the sand. She swallowed nervously and turned to Lynn with a serious expression. “None?”
The corners of Lynn’s lips curved into a slow smile, “You don’t really believe that. I think you’re just saying it because you feel guilty about last night.”
“Maybe,” Alexis smiled. “Seriously though, I know the tabloids live to make up false stories. It’s just with celebrities one never knows what’s real or what is not.”
“That’s true. I mean there are some celebrities I know that do far worse than what the tabloids print about them.” Grinning, Lynn leaned back, wrapping her slender arms around both knees. Her toes dug into the sand when she looked at Alexis. “Since they’re never able to turn up any juicy tidbits about me, they make up crap on a daily basis.”
“Are you calling yourself boring,” Alexis asked with a snort. Her eyes lingered on Lynn’s knees and she caught sight of a jagged scar that stretched several inches. Even with Lynn’s deep tan, the scar was clearly visible.
“Sort of,” Lynn sighed. “I’ve been called that before. I might as well agree since it’s accurate.” A small smile passed over Lynn’s face.
“Looking at you,” Alexis said as her eyes scanned Lynn’s fit and trim body. “I find it hard to believe you could ever be boring.” Alexis mentally kicked herself when the thoughts of Lynn stretched across the center of her bed, legs spread and calling out her name, flickered into her thoughts. The daydream caused Alexis’s cheeks to flush with color.
“Why, officer, are you offering me a compliment?” Lynn asked with a teasing tone and an air of mock trepidation.
“I guess I am,” Alexis admitted with a smile.
“Thanks,” Lynn whispered. Leaning over, she nudged Alexis’s shoulder with her own.
The skin on skin contact once again caused Alexis to tremble with desire. Her mouth grew dry and she stared intently at the sand. When she looked back up, Lynn had turned to stare into the roaring ocean waves. Her voluptuous chest rose and fell with each breath. Alexis noticed that a cloud of sadness seemed to surround the celebrity like an aura of darkness. Calista squealed, breaking Alexis’s concentration. Her head snapped towards her daughter, and she smiled when she saw the little girl laughing in delight as she finished shaping the top peak. “Good job, Sweetheart!” Alexis stood, walked to her daughter, and pulled the wiggling child into her arms.
“Mommy,” Calista giggled when Alexis placed tender kisses over her face. “I’m hungry. Can we have hot dogs?”
“I don’t know, Sweetie. You know that we really cannot…” Alexis’s words were cut short by Lynn’s soft voice.
“My treat.” Lynn stood directly beside Alexis and placed her hand on the smaller woman’s arm.
“I couldn’t.” Alexis shook her head and frowned.
“Sure you can. You let me hang out with the two of you today. It’s the least I can do to show my gratitude.” Lynn smiled. Kneeling down, she met Calista’s crystal blue eyes. “Let me guess, I bet the only thing you like on your hotdog is chili?”
“Yuck,” Calista made a face. “I don’t like chili.”
“No chili,” Lynn asked with a raised eyebrow and a laugh. “Okay, then tell me what you would like on yours, Ms. Calista.”
“Ummm ketchup, the weenie,” Calista wrinkled her nose. “And a bun,” she added with a grin.
“Got ya,” Lynn stood and looked at Alexis, “How about you?”
“I don’t need anything,” Alexis replied with a shake of her head.
“Alright, but if you don’t tell me what you want then I will just buy one with everything.” Lynn crossed her arms in defiance.
“Lynn,” Alexis blew out a frustrated breath. She stared into stubborn eyes and realized she had already lost the argument. “No onions, please,” she said dramatically. “I hate those slimy things.”
“No kidding, so do I.” Lynn met Alexis’s eyes briefly before walking over to her lounge chair and picking up the Prada bag she always carried. “I’ll be right back.”
Alexis exhaled as her eyes followed Lynn. The way Lynn’s long legs carried her in a conceited strut made her appear to be exceedingly confident, but Alexis sensed that deep down Lynn wasn’t entirely the woman she seemed to be. The cocky celebrity she had seen on stage and on the TV was not the same caring woman who had spent the day building sand castles with a six-year-old. Lynn’s reactions to Calista had seemed genuine. Alexis replayed Lynn’s words, “Maybe I just don’t want to be alone.” Lynn’s words were so pitiful that Alexis had momentarily felt a surge of protectiveness. It was a feeling that she had only experienced that intensely with her daughter and Lenora, until now. That thought scared her more than she was willing to admit, even to herself.
