Dylan left for work the next day after giving Bennett strict instructions to stay in the apartment and avoid Laurie. He’d done a quick search on-line and verified that a local college student was strangled to death in the dorms. Everything beyond that was being kept under wraps at the moment. He felt a mix of sadness for the student and relief that Trenton and Bennett weren’t setting him up for some elaborate prank.
He drove his black Dodge to the mall, checking the radio for anything concerning Chad Fleming, but he found nothing. Dylan settled on some electronica while he navigated the familiar streets. He parked by the food court entrance and headed inside.
George waved Dylan into his little office, and he handed him a clipboard with several photocopied surveys.
