The air in the building went still as she looked around the area, eased the hairpin to pop the lock, slid through the door, and turned her flashlight off. “Focus, Jessica.” She walked over to an empty table; the books were all on the shelf neatly lined up. Jessica went down the hallway to the bedroom, opening the door only to find the room had been cleaned. In the closet, she found clothes still hung up. Her hope to find some clues had dried up. Sifting through the clothes rack, she squatted down to the ground, and nothing stood out. Her brows dipped in frustration, as she whirled around to check the drawers and blew out a breath. “Nothing.” Her last hope was to speak with the woman they saved from the park.
