Brielle’s POV “Did something happen at work?” Cara asked me as she found me smiling at myself as I worked on the laptop. “No, nothing happened just thinking of this,” I said to her, turning the screen of my laptop to her so she can look at the wedding dress I was admiring. “That looks nice, are you already thinking of your dress? I thought you said last night that you didn’t think you could work with such an asshole.” She inquired from me as I smiled at her. “Let’s just say I changed my mind. Plus, he has no one to help him tonight at the diner so he wants me to attend,” I said to her and she smiled. “How did you get him to change his mind? Don’t tell me you called your boss while drunk?” She questioned me as I frowned, looking away from her. “Come on, there other ways I can convince someone to change their minds. You know I am good at negotiating contracts?” I questioned her as she smiled, coming closer to me. “I know you do just wonder how you managed with him?” She said to me as I stood up, going closer to her. “I went closer to him like this, as I stripped off…” I said to her as I bit my lower lip, she scoffed hitting my shoulder “I know what you are trying to do,” She said to me as she leaned over kissing me, she knew I would seduce no one because I was shy to do it. “Do you?” She chuckled softly, wrapping my hands around her waist. “How about I come early today then we can spend some time together? Huh?” she said to me as I removed my hands from her neck, moving away from her. “That’s fine. Don’t worry about me. Just take your time” I said to her as I went back to the table slamming the laptop shut before walking to our room. “Brie?” She called after me, but I didn’t have time to listen to her. I just grabbed my handbag and phone, making my way out of the bedroom to avoid talking to her. “Brie?” She called me, trying to stop me from leaving “I will see later,” I said to her getting out of the house, I was just a few blocks away from the house and my phone rang. I checked the screen, and it was my boss. “Where are you?” He spoke through the phone as I took a deep breath, “Hello Sir, I am at home. Is there anything you need?” I responded to him. “Yes, I didn’t get the minutes from the last meeting. Do you have time to send them to me today?” He questioned as I sighed heavily, I had nothing to do so I thought maybe I should just go there. “Yes, I will go to the office now,” I said to him and he said nothing and just cut me off, I turned my direction heading to the subway station. I got on and made way to the office; I arrived there and found people busy working; I had even forgotten that today was a Saturday. I arrived in the office and noticed Charles was there; I raised my eyebrows wondering what exactly h was thinking, couldn’t he just get the phone on my desk? I inwardly thought to myself as I went to my desk, settling down. I had just turned on my computer and he was already making way to me, “how long does it take you to get here? I thought you lived downtown?” He said placing three files on my desk. “Do you know how long I had to wait?” He questioned me as I took the files from him “I apologies, I took a train, should have used a cab,” I said to him as he looked at me, “Get those documents ready for me, make sure you know those people there. I have to attend a function on Monday and would like you to attend,” He said to me and I knew what he meant by it. I am sure he wanted me to help him recognize them. “Yes, sir” I responded to him as he turned to leave. I sent the minutes to everyone who was in the meeting including him and I went ahead going through the files. I took time studying the different men and where they were from. After I finished, I summarized on a document the people he wanted me to remember. I quickly finished everything he gave me and went to give him the document I came up with. “I will look at it,” He said to me as I slightly bowed my head affirming before I made my way out of his office. I sat on my desk with nothing to do, I didn’t want to go home because I knew I would be alone. I looked at my phone, hoping Cara would text me, but there was nothing from her. For months now I could feel we were drifting apart, but I didn’t know what to do because I tried several times to reach out to Cara. But it seems like she’s not interested. The loud ring of my phone brought me back to reality as I looked at the switchboard, noticing that my boss was calling me. “Hello, Sir?” I picked up looking at the screen “You can leave!” He spat through the phone as the beeping sound rang in my ear. He had just cut the call after saying those three words to me. I shut down my computer before leaving. I made my way to the supermarket to get a few groceries before going home. I arrived home and got inside, heading to the kitchen as I put the bags I came with on the table. When I saw Cara walking in with a bottle of wine in her hand and a tiny present bag. I just looked at her as I rolled my eyes going on with unpacking the bags, “Babe I am sorry Okay?” She said coming closer to where I was but I just moved past her. “I know that I haven’t given you my attention lately but was hoping…” She said to me as she came closer, blocking my way. I moved my face away from me as she lowered her head. “I was thinking how about some time cuddling, just you and me?” she whispered to me as she kissed my neck, I closed my eyes enjoying the warmth of her lips on my neck and ears. She knew exactly how to make me change my mind, even if I was mad at her.
