"Cat," Alex said, his voice low and serious. "I know this might sound crazy, but I need you to trust me.
I looked at him skeptically, wondering what he could possibly be talking about. "What do you mean?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.
Mario helped the children into the jet and I was gobsmacked by it all. It was hard to process.
“What do you want to tell me?” I asked him.
“I will show you. Please just trust me.” Alex said.
I looked at Alex, trying to read his expression. There was something in his eyes that made me feel like he was being genuine. But I was still hesitant.
"Okay," I said finally, feeling as though I was taking a leap of faith. "I trust you. What do you want to show me?"
Alex smiled at me, taking my hand in his. "Come with me," he said, leading me towards the jet. “Goodbye Mario, see you soon.” Alex called over his shoulder to his trusted friend.
I followed him, feeling a mix of excitement and apprehension. I had no idea what was going on, but I was willing to go along with it.
As we boarded the jet, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. This was not the kind of thing I was used to. But I tried to keep my cool, not wanting to seem too out of place.
The jet was big and luxurious. The interior was like something out of a movie, with plush seats and a minibar. Nadia and Nathan were chattering excitedly about how awesome it was, and I couldn't help but smile at their enthusiasm. I was curious about what Alex had in store for us, but I didn't want to spoil the surprise.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. I had no idea what was going on, but I was excited to find out.
“Cat, this is Sally and she will be tending to anything you or the children need during the flight. This here is Alfred and he is my pilot. If you need anything just ask.” Alex said. I nodded unable to find the words.
“Good to meet you madam and what beautiful children you have.” Sally gushed as she bowed to me and Alex. I thought nothing if it and maybe she was just being polite but this all seemed to good to be true.
As we took off, I looked out the window, watching as the ground fell away beneath us. It was a surreal feeling, like I was in a dream.
The twins took to Sally very quickly and she was brilliant with them. It felt good to sit back and relax while the twins were tended to. They soon fell asleep though. It had been a long day for them.
"Are you okay?" Alex asked me, noticing my expression.
"I'm fine," I said, trying to sound confident. "Just a bit overwhelmed."
Alex nodded, looking at me with understanding. "I know it's a lot to take in," he said. "But I promise you, it's worth it."
Whatever he had planned, I knew I could count on him to guide me through it.
As we flew, I couldn't help but feel a sense of adventure. I had no idea where we were going, but I was excited to find out.
After what felt like hours, we finally began to descend. As we got closer to the ground, I could see lights twinkling in the distance.
"Where are we?" I asked Alex, feeling a sense of anticipation.
As the jet eventually landed, I realized that we had come to a quiet place. There were no other planes or jets in sight. "Where are we, Alex?" I frowned, feeling a sense of confusion.
He gazed at me with a glint in his eyes. His face broke into a smile. He took my hand and pointed out the window. "Let me show you."
Taking my hand, he escorted me off the plane while Sally tended to the twins, Nadia and Nathan. They were quite sleepy and called out for me. Turning around, I assured them both that everything was okay. Alex scooped them up into his arms, and they immediately snuggled into him.
"Wow, this place is magical," Nathan exclaimed followed by a yawn.
Alex chuckled. "Yes, it is quite magical. Welcome to your new home," he said, and my mouth fell open in shock.
The place was huge. A mansion surrounded by fields and fields. The mansion was like a huge castle from a fairytale, as Nadia kept saying. It was beautiful. I could see that there was a separate pool, and waiting at the entrance was a group of people dressed as maids. I was in shock. What was going on here? I looked to Alex for answers, but he just smiled and gestured for me to follow him.
"Good evening, your highness," the maids greeted Alex, and my mouth fell even wider. Highness? What were they talking about? Was Alex royal?
"Welcome back, your royal highness. We hope you enjoyed your break," a butler appeared and bowed to Alex. Nadia and Nathan giggled at the sight before them.
As we walked through the mansion, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe. Everywhere I looked, there was something beautiful to see. The furniture was ornate, and the walls were covered in beautiful paintings. It was like something out of a dream.
Alex led us to a room that was even more beautiful than the rest. The bed was huge, and the sheets looked like they were made of silk. I couldn't believe my eyes.
"Alex, what is all of this?" I asked, still in disbelief.
He smiled at me, his eyes filled with love. "This is our new home, my love. I wanted to surprise you and the kids with something special."
I couldn't believe it. This was more than special. It was like a fairytale come true. I walked over to the window and looked out at the beautiful view. The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the fields. It was breathtaking.
Alex came up behind me and put his arms around me. "Do you like it?"
I turned to him, tears in my eyes. "I love it. It's perfect."
He smiled and kissed me. "I'm glad. I want us to be happy here. This is our new beginning."
Nadia and Nathan were already jumping on the bed, giggling and laughing. It was like they had found a new playground. I couldn't help but laugh at their excitement.
"Come on, let's go explore," Alex said, taking my hand.
We spent the rest of the evening exploring the mansion and the surrounding fields. It was like a dream come true. I couldn't believe that this was our new home. Soon it was time for the twins to go to bed and I felt quite tired myself.
I smiled, feeling relieved that the twins were fast asleep in the next room down the hall. It was nice to know that they were safe and sound, and that Alex and I could enjoy this moment alone. The silence in the room was comforting, and I could hear nothing but the soft rustle of the sheets as we settled into bed. It was like we were the only two people in the world, lost in our own little bubble of happiness. "Cat," Alex said, "I want you to know that I am here for you, should you need me for anything at all." I thanked him, feeling grateful for his kindness. The room was stunning, with high ceilings and elegant decor. The bed was a king size, with soft, plush pillows and luxurious sheets that felt like silk against my skin. It was like sleeping on a cloud. I couldn't believe that this was all ours, that we had been given such a beautiful gift. And I knew that I had Alex to thank for it all. As I lay there, I couldn't help but think about everything that had happened over the past few months. It had been a rollercoaster of emotions, with so many highs and lows. But through it all, Alex had been my rock. He had been there for me, supporting me every step of the way.
“All this is yours and you didn’t tell me? Your royal highness.” I giggled as I addressed him. He smiled and took my hand.
“Yes, I needed to be sure that what we had was real and not just because of who I am. You are meant for me and I am meant for you. Together we will get through anything. Catarina, you and those children are my everything. I will be honest with you, I knew from the moment that I saw you that I had to have you. You are safe here. My status as the royal king of alphas will ensure that you and the twins are safe.” Alex said taking my hand in his and kissing it. My eyes widened in disbelief. He was the royal alpha king. Lochlan would never be able to get to me and I was safe with my twins here with Alex. He was going to protect us no matter what. “But what about your wolf?” I stammered trying to make sense of it all. “Oh he’s still there. My sisters best friend is a hybrid witch and cast a spell to keep my wolf at bay while I was away on business in the human city. He doesn’t get harmed that way at all. Don’t worry about it.” Alex assured me. It made me think of my own wolf. I hadn’t seen her since I left the pack house. The betrayal was horrendous and she took it badly since that was our fated mate.
“Cat I believe the moon goddess bought us together for a reason.”
I looked down at my lap.
"Are you okay?" Alex asked, sensing my thoughts.
I turned to him and smiled. "I'm more than okay. I'm happy. Happier than I've been in a long time, but I just miss my wolf sometimes, you know."
He smiled back at me, his eyes filled with love. "I'm glad. I want you to be happy. You deserve it and give it time, I’m sure she will come back to you. Betrayal is an awful thing and not something that can be gotten over quickly. She will come back.” He assured me and I felt better after that.
We lay there in silence for a few moments, just enjoying each other's company. It was like we didn't need words to communicate. We just knew what the other was thinking.
"Goodnight, Cat," Alex said, breaking the silence.
"Goodnight, Alex," I replied, feeling content.
And with that, we drifted off to sleep, wrapped up in each other's arms, ready to face whatever the future held.
