AUTHOR’S POV Dorian's surroundings blurred as he hit the ground. He scrambled to get up but fell back down, his balance distorted, while Nerissa's screams pierced the water, a high-pitched wail as she rushed to Oceana, who was also screaming. The room was a blur of sound and movement, with everything happening too quickly for anyone to process. Searus charged at Dorian, fists flying, when he noticed the red liquid floating next to Oceana's face. The first punch struck Dorian's jaw, sending a shockwave of pain through his skull and he barely had time to register the impact before another fist slammed into his ribs, forcing the air out of his lungs.
