Chapter 13 "No," Jabari spat. "Just leave them alone." But Isika pushed past him and laid her hands on the man's head, imitating what Jabari had done. Some of the warmth inside her flowed toward him and she smelled roses in the air. The man stopped writhing and groaning. He smiled, stretching and looking up at her with deep brown eyes. He touched her face with one long, dusky hand. Then he closed his eyes and slept. She went to the woman, and this time Jabari didn't say anything to stop her.
