“Why are you still here?” Rio asked Zian when he saw the latter fetching his backpack from their old house the next morning. It was the last day of the school week. “Weren’t you supposed to leave ten minutes ago? You’re going to be late, Zi.”
“I know,” Zian said softly before he hurried out of the door. He looked dispirited. He left the wooden door open as he ran. Cher had already left and now he was going to school by himself. It was no problem to him because he had gone to school alone before. He would see some students heading to school a kilometer away from where they leave where their roads met. The walk would not be so lonely then.
