Camp 2

The night was calm and peaceful with the stars twinkling beautifully in the sky above. The weather was too calm for a night which bothered me a little bit, it wasn’t even cold like I had expected it to be. It was so different from the horrors my sister Fraules said to me about. The campsite was silent except for the occasional murmurs or the sounds of someone humming a tune. For longer than a while, I looked at the fireflies that would glow around the camp and twirl in the air marvelously and skillfully. Had I not been on watch I would have gone to play with those tiny glowing flying creatures. I turned my eyes to look at the fire in front of me that was slowly dying out. I hovered my palms over the dying hot coals, I always enjoyed the feeling for some weird reason. I usually did this when none of my family looked because they would probably get freaked out when they see how my palms never got scalded by fire. It was a little hidden hobby of mine. I picked a red coal and closed it in between my palms enjoying the warmth that was being exuded from it. When I opened my hands again, the coal was black like I had just sucked the heat and glow out of it. Suddenly, I felt something moving towards me. I quickly trained my eyes towards that direction and saw a hooded figure approach me. I refrained from shouting as I studied the person who was getting closer to me each second. He looked nothing like a bandit more of a…. woman. When she was close enough, she removed the purple hood that covered her face revealing a smiley expression. Her eyes were painted black in a weird way like she was some sort of a ritual woman or something. She seemed about my mother’s age. She wore a revealing outfit under the hood that exposed her stomach and most of her legs, I didn’t miss the sets of daggers that lined her waist. I wondered who she was really The woman sat opposite me and studied me with a curious expression. She attempted to stare at my eyes but she broke contact after a second and continued scanning the rest of my body. Her eyes widened with each moment then an excited expression formed on her face. “before you do anything to me my father and brother are over there and I wouldn’t mind screaming to wake them up” I threatened, I was already picking up a twig from the ground in case she was thinking of attacking or kidnapping me. “strange, I thought you guys were eliminated for good” the woman said nevertheless with a frown. She seemed to be so surprised to see me. Did she want me dead? I looked at the daggers around her waist then proved my theory that the woman wanted me wiped from the face of the earth. I opened my mouth preparing to scream. “No, don’t do that. I don’t want to kill you.” the woman smiled stopping me midway. " you won't abduct me and sell me to the slavers?" I frowned. The woman chuckled then pointed at me " you are funny" she said amidst her bubbly laughter “Who are you?” I asked immediately looking at her even more cautiously “ Let's see, at the moment I’m just a normal woman here to accompany you for the night” she replied then mumbled something towards my father and brother. After that, they snored even loudly in their sleep “What did you do to them?” I asked darting my eyes between the woman and my father and brother who were sprawled on the mats sleeping to their heart’s contents. “did you see me move?’ the woman smirked sitting even more comfortably “your lips did” I retorted going to check my father out. I tried to open their eyelids and slap them but they seemed to be lost in their own slumber that they didn’t even move a finger. Only their mouths that opened in loud snores was proof that they were alive “Let’s make a deal” the woman said still looking at me with the same curious eyes she had when she first approached me. “I tell you a story and then I return your father and brother to their normal states” I went and sat down some distance away from her and nodded to her weird requests. “it’s better if you came closer, I don’t want the wake other people up” she said. I took a minute to consider that before I moved back to my original spot close to the fire. “before I start the story, make sure you don’t forget me when you get older” she said. I had to frown at that, was this woman seriously serious or just seriously joking but I nodded my head nevertheless “Once upon a time in a very ancient looking room sat six people discussing and arguing. Before a large gold throne like chair were other five thrones made of gold but smaller than the first. On each of them sat the mythical beings of the world. On the first large throne sat an extremely old man with fading white hair, he seemed powerful and every move he made was filled with an invisible power. He was the head of the other beings who sat there. Before him on the thrones from the left was the legendary werewolf, he was in form of a huge bulky man with wild hair. His eyes were always squinted making him look like a very angry man. Beside him was a bald headed man who held a snake resembling stuff on his right arm. His eyes were painted purple; he was the witch in the lot. A stone rigid man with flaming red eyes sat like a sculpture beside the witch. The edges of his canines showed on his lower lip making him seem terrifying to look at, he seemed dignified. Next to him was a comely man donned with white robes. A pair of wings was embalmed on the front of his white robe, he was from the wingmen species. Lastly was a man who seemed confident though there was nothing special about him except for the two swords strung on his back. A black belt was looped over his waist, he was a sword cultivator and fighter…….
