Dixon hands over the cup of coffee to ms Teresa and slump on the seat next to her. While munching the cookies he made. Staring absentmindedly on the TV set.
“Why the glum look?”
“Why won’t there be a glum look.” He retorted.
“Calm down Dixon, will you. Just smile a bit. You’re look threatening.”
“So she could leave! My heart is as hard as stone. I might end up killing her.”
Do you mean to say she might end up killing you. Cause she doesn’t look like someone who has a heart.
He force a smile which turns out to be a grimace. Ms Teresa chuckles.
“You should be happy, you ain’t gonna be lonely in here.”
“Not With Someone pretending to be mute when she isn’t. She a weirdo. And just take a look at her. Is she from this planet earth?”
Ms Teresa turn, looking behind her.
She held the cookies in her hands and was staring at it. With so much curiosity. Then she squashed them in her hands. Place them on the table and began using her mouth to pick them..
She sigh, sadly, returning her gaze to Dixon. Then sips from the coffee.
“You see that, I could just give her up to the cops. Detective Sean, came here. Would have...”
“Dixon don’t..
“Just trust me, endure for a while you will eventually get to understand her, why she behaves like this. Why she afraid to speak, Why she couldn’t speak at first? And others. Give her some time.”
Dixon sighed and throw a glance at her way again, she was watching them now with her brows pecked up.
Wondering what they were talking about.
He almost smiled at how, confused she was. But slap the smile away from his face. What’s wrong with him.
“It’s just for a while, if you can’t contain her anymore, you can send her out but I know that isn’t happening. You’ll take care her. Won’t you?”
He gave her a slanted look.
“She looks innocent and cute. But I don’t understand why. I am still confused as it is. If am doing what’s right. The cops were here. Like I said earlier Looking for some killer beast or something. And she wasn’t in the house then. Later she came in. I don’t understand. Ms Teresa. Who is she?”
“Can you do me just one favor. Please Dixon. You’ll get to know everything about her. Let her stay.”
“That’s the reason you gave me a house. Isn’t?”
She hesitated and sipped from her coffee.
“Partly, I didn’t know she was gonna be out, I always hope she was gonna be free and she was free, she did came out alive. Just give her sometimes. You’ll eventually get used to her been around”
“From where was she...”
“In hell. A place worse than where you came out from.”
Roy stared solemnly at Luca's study, his books were all over the place, meaning he did a search already before what happened, happened. He squat, picking up a small picture in a frame, it was him and Lucas on the day he left the rehab... how could this had happened, how come, dad, how come she was able to kill you. You should have had something just in case things went wrong, a d**g or something. You should have prepared. Why didn’t you do all that?
Why didn’t you have a second thought. You won’t have end this way. You would’ve still be alive.
And now, what do you want him to do, just what Lucas!
He place it back on the shelf. And turn to glance at Beryl who was cowering beside the door. Her feet were shaking and she was all sweaty. She hadn’t thought it would be this scary. There were skeletons at the door. Blood on the doorpost. What did all that mean, there was a half dried thing, looking like a human beside the door. And a cloak was covering the bed. This was just his study what would the basement look like or his lab. How did he get to study with all these creepy things staring at him.
"I didn't force you to come Beryl"
" I know" she stepped away from the door. Almost falling. She wasn’t there right now. Her heart was thrummed heavily. She felt she might pass out before he was done with the search. He gave a her warning look which comprises with a hard glare
She gulped down nervously, it was somehow, when he keep changing every seconds. But what could she do, she was already on it.
The place was so eerie, what kind of man
was Lucas. Locked someone up in here. She keeps glancing around.
“I thought you came here to search, not to stare at how my fathers house look like”
“Don’t be mad..”
“I won’t if you do what we came here for.”
Beryl nodded trying to get back herself. She was already here, she just had to do it.
"Let's begin the search" he announced.
"It has to be here somewhere"
"Ohhh" she tried not to make her voice quaver.
He gave her a slanted look and look away.
She dare not think of leaving him to that dunce or whatever his name his, he loves her so much that he can’t bare to see her with someone else, and when he did she her with someone else, if she did leave him.
He wouldn't hesitate to killed her within a snap of a finger....

"Do you think he would find it" Peru asked in a low voice he even doubted Albert would hear but he did. He was standing in in front of Albert, in his study table. While mixing his tea.
Albert gaze was elsewhere as he smoke the pipe quietly. Staring into space. He had everything he wants but his family wasn’t were he wanted it to be. He wanted a perfect family with no damn flaw. But he couldn’t seems to get it. Bruce was a lazy sick child. He couldn’t stand over his company. And he doesn’t want to go into business. He was a total asshole wasn’t it? How is he gonna get the perfect family he always wanted, well there’s no way he would get that. No matter how hard He tried. It just won’t fit. Not at all.
"We should give him a benefit of the doubt" he answered fixing his gaze on Peru. While he wheezed smoke in the air.
"He's lucas' son after all"
Peru nodded giving him the tea, he took it from him. Removing the pipe from his mouth, he took a sips.
"Its getting more complicated" he whispered, it was more like he was talking to himself than Albert. His small cunning eyes looked so dim that you could think he's looking down into your soul.
"Have you thought about Dixon and what's he's up to"
Albert was silent for a while, staring into space.
"I didn't know how he was able to get out of prison. And since I had him disowned, I don’t think he would be any threat to us.”
“And the secrets dies with us.”
Albert nodded and chugged down the tea.
Peru cunning eyes watched him.
“We’ll Get the girl very soon. Right in her hands.”
“Sure of that.”
“You sure about that?” Albert lift his full eyebrows at him.
“Definitely.” He smirked, looking away from Albert.
And then the door barge opened. And Linda came in just enough time to see the smirk on his face..
“Have heard of knocking Linda.” Peru turn his gaze away from them. Linda stroll in. With her hands folded. She keep her withering gaze on Peru, who had his look elsewhere other than her.
“What do you want Linda?”
“Can we talk.” She throw a glance at Albert, then return it to Peru.
“Alone. We’ve some family business to discuss.”
“Peru is family, he’s been with us for a long time now and there’s nothing he doesn’t know about the ‘family business ‘ you mentioned.”
“Isn’t it too bad for other people to be involved. We’re family not Peru. He’s a stranger.”
“I won’t let you talk about him like that!” He raised his voice. Standing up from the chair.
“I should leave.”
“You’re staying, if she’s anything to say, she’s to say it now or get out.”
“Albert!” She brawls. Barely containing the anger in her voice.
“You’re choosing your family over a stranger. How could you?”
“Peru is family. We’ve been friends for the longest time. I don’t see why you still can’t accept him as family for the past years we had been together. All you think about is yourself and your sons.”
“You don’t care, never once cared.” He sat down. Took his pipe and lit it. And began smoking. Calming down his nerves.
“I don’t want to come in between your family, I’ll take my leave.”
“No need for that. Peru.” Linda stopped him.
“I can see you’ve finally have your way with my husband, you’ve successfully turned him against his own family...” she face Albert.
“I just want to let you know that, Am gonna help Dixon get his life back. And whoever had framed him for murder...”
“Haven’t that issue being close. How’re gonna go with it.”
“I don’t need your help, I want you to stay out of it. Though this wasn’t what I had in mind. And I’ll make sure I win this fight against you.” She said to Peru and walked out of the room. Slamming it behind her.
“Is there something she knows?”
Albert shrugged.
“I won’t know.”
