Chapter 6They’re done at the third house, but having trouble leaving because the mother of one of the sick children, Hannah, doesn’t seem to want Evan to leave. Ever since Evan got here, she’s been flirting with him and completely ignoring Rene, which pisses Evan off. Even if she’s attracted to him, that doesn’t mean she should be rude to Rene.
Rene’s already out and in her front yard, and Evan’s in the doorway. Jane Turner will just not stop talking to him, batting her eyelashes like a schoolgirl.
