CHAPTER 5 “It’s ok, Mom. It’s really not a big deal.” Susannah’s voice was gentle and soothing as she and Gloria carried one of the folding tables outside. Ricky trailed behind them with the fruit platter. “Look.” Susannah smiled when they stepped outside. “It’s gorgeous out. I really think we’re getting the better end of the deal.” She sighed at her daughter’s words. The first class was already here, running haphazardly across the lawn while they waited for Gloria to finish setting up. Good thing the town wasn’t supposed to get any rain.
