CHAPTER 7 “Did you have a nice time this morning, sweetheart?” Gloria asked Susannah as they worked together to get Kitty in her wheelchair for her afternoon snack. “Yeah. It was quite a few kids, wasn’t it?” “Fifty-seven,” Gloria answered. Not a bad turnout for a town this size. And quite a few more than Orchard Grove Bible Church brought in previous years when they did the VBS on their own. “That’s a lot of snacks,” Susannah remarked. It was true. Gloria was tired after her long first day, but she didn’t mind. She’d been cooking and baking for nearly as long as she could remember.
