Morgan and Gabe parted ways with Kathy and Ben and headed up the walkway to greet Mr. Hornberry where he sat on his front porch. After they greeted each other, Morgan said little. Instead, she put the journal in his hand. The older man did not immediately respond, only stared at the old book in his hands. It surprised Morgan to see tears form in the corners of his eyes. She sat down next to him, placing a hand on his arm in comfort while he looked down at the journal Morgan had put in his hands.
