Cordelia was the first to arrive at the pier, and with the abandonment of youth, she threw her backpack down on the ground by one bench and raced out to the edge of the pier to watch the boats. She had left Morgan sitting in the library staring off into space. Cordelia knew something was wrong, but she didn"t have the heart to ask what. Instead, she’d quietly gotten herself ready and after getting a “be careful” and a warm hug from Morgan, had left for her day out on the boat. There was a nagging worry that shouldn"t affect somebody so young, but Cordelia had lost her mother and then her grandparents all in a short span of time, and she was sensitive to what was going on around her, always with the fear in the back of her mind that she might lose somebody else.
