Captains Rose"s deep voice carried across the pier to where they stood. Years of issuing orders to her crew had strengthened her voice to where she didn"t need any mechanical assistance to make her voice carry.
"What did you do now, Zack?" Kathy teased as she nudged him in the ribs.
It was obvious Zack didn"t want to keep the captain waiting, and he addressed his comments to Jenny. "Nothing that I know of. But it must be serious if Captain Rose needs to speak to me. She doesn"t waste her time with idle chitchat. I"ll catch up with the rest of you later."
