14 - Not a Hero

1815 Words

I try to look around, but it is all the same. I can’t see anything. Where am I? Am I still at the Academy? I am about to call out for someone, anyone, when, from the darkness, emerge hundreds, no, thousands of lost souls. They come rushing to me and the unpleasant feeling of being trespassed by their specters makes me close my eyes again. When I open them, the darkness is gone and so are all of the lost souls. I have no idea what just happened. “Alana!” I hear Mr. Lucas’ voice behind me, and I look back at him, feeling extremely dizzy and confused. “Are you ok?” He asks me, holding my arm to keep me steady. “Y-Yeah…” I manage to mumble but find that my voice is coarse. It is then that I realize I am crying. I reach out to wipe my tears, unable to understand what is going on with me.
