Chapter Ten - Don't Leave

2624 Words
✩Blake✩ I arrived at the airport a lot quicker than I had thought I would. I landed as close to the entrance as I could before I shifted back into my human form. I quickly rummaged through the bag and got dressed. I couldn’t exactly beg Dawn to come back to me while I was completely naked. Could I? No, of course not! She wasn’t like that. I hurried inside and saw Kayne and Dawn sitting together, talking. I knew that if I stared at Kayne hard and long enough, he would look my way. When he did, he smiled and said something to Dawn before he got up and headed towards me. “That was quick,” he said softly. “I can’t lose her,” “Good, go get her,” he squeezed my shoulder before he left the airport. I took a deep breath and went over to Dawn. Sitting down next to her already made me feel better. “Do you think he will ever tell me he is a dragon?” Dawn asked as she continued to fiddle around on the phone in her hands. “I am a dragon, a Lord dragon,” I informed her. Dawn squealed out as she snapped to look at me. “Blake!” “Yes, sshh, it is a secret,” I said as I leaned in closer. She stiffened but her cheeks went a soft shade of pink and she didn’t pull away. “What are you doing here?” she asked me, and I leaned in even closer, she turned away and I smiled. “I came here for you,” I whispered in her ear. She shivered and I reached out to run my fingers through her hair. It was as soft as it looked, silky and I sniffed. Strawberry. “You did?” I heard her ask and I closed my eyes and smiled. “Yes, I did. I am so sorry for how I treated you. I allowed the Seniors to get inside my head, to tell me what to do but then I realized something,” I leaned back to look at her and she gazed up at me with her sweet innocent eyes. “What?” “I realized that I really like you and that I want to see where this goes,” I admitted. It wasn’t easy for me; I didn’t want to bare my soul or my feelings, but I wasn’t prepared to lose her. Not when I just found her. “You do?” “I do, Dawn,” I reached out and took her hand in mine. Her skin felt soft to my touch and I gently brushed my thumb of her fingers. “Will you give us a chance?” I asked as I searched her eyes. She nodded and smiled up at me and I paused, was this the right time? I wasn’t sure and I didn’t care. I closed my eyes and leaned in. Gently pressing my lips against hers, I felt as if my whole body was on fire. It was such an odd feeling, but it felt amazing. Dawn kissed me back with so much passion that I could feel that she too had deep feelings for me. I pulled her towards me and wrapped my arms around her. I deepened the kiss and although we were in a public place, I didn’t care. All I could think, breathe, and feel was Dawn. She took my breath away. When we finally pulled apart, she was red in her face and I thought she looked so adorable and very sexy. Her lustful eyes said it all as she licked her lips. I wanted to kiss her again and again but now wasn’t the right time. I gently put her back in her seat. “I think we should go,” I whispered as I glanced around us. People were staring. Some looked happy for us whilst others didn’t look as impressed. I guess you can’t win them all. As we left the airport, I groaned. I had not thought this through very well and as I looked over at my Dawn, I wondered how she would feel about me fulfilling my promise. “What’s wrong?” she asked as she looked at me. “I didn’t come here with a car,” I informed her, and she looked around. “Oh, Kayne is gone,” she said, and I nodded. “So, what does this mean?” she asked, and I shrugged as I kept my eyes on her. “Are you suggesting we…um…fly?” “I am,” I said. She looked concerned, then excited and then scared. “I won’t drop you,” I pointed out softly. She seemed to relax a bit and then she finally nodded. “Alright,” she said, and I led her to a more private area. “You don’t have to watch if you don’t want too,” I said but she didn’t move. I wasn’t going to get naked so I knew that I would ruin the clothes I had on. It didn’t matter, that was the last thought I had as I started to shift. ✩Dawn✩ I had been expecting him to get undressed or something but when he didn’t, I just watched. In all my life I have never seen anything like it, it was horrifying and magnificent all at the same time. What looked like hard stones or scales started to cover Blake’s entire body and he grew. His neck elongated and a long tail grew from behind him. I watched as his tail grew longer and then the arrowhead-shaped tip looked sharp and dangerous. I held my breath as his wings sprouted out from his back. They were huge! As Blake stretched out his wings, I gasped as it glistened, and I had the urge to reach out and touch him. Blake turned slightly and I got a view of his back. His whole body was covered in massive scales and what looked like a crystal ridge ran down his spine all the way to the tip of his tail. I couldn’t help but notice that the bottom part of his body looked much darker than the top half and how to two shades of black melted together was just perfection. His two bulky back limbs allowed him to stand tall, mighty, and proud. It was as my eyes traveled along his body that I noticed his sharp claws, I looked up at his face and I felt a cold shiver run down my spine. His eyes were silver and set delicately within his hard skull and it gave him a vicious looking appearance. I noticed the small central horn that sat atop his head, right in the middle between his two cat-like ears. His snout was long and the oval nostrils did nothing to distract me from the two huge teeth that poked out from the side of his mouth. It just gave me a slight hint at the terror hiding inside. I should’ve been afraid, I wanted to be, but I wasn’t. Instead, I wanted to touch him, to feel him and most of all I was excited to fly with him. Blake came towards me and I stood my ground as he neared. When he nuzzled my side with his snout, I could help but giggle. He looked terrifying and was something that nightmares were made of, but I found him very handsome. His mouth opened slightly, and I took a peek inside. I could see his razor-sharp teeth and I wondered just how sharp they were. His wings spread wide and his bulky arms reached out for me. I was temporarily worried about his claws damaging my clothes, but he pulled me towards him in such a gentle manner that the thought fly right out of my mine. I quickly grabbed my bag and held onto his arm. I had thought he would feel cold and although he wasn’t warm, he wasn’t cold. I ran my free hand along his scales, and I smiled. They were so smooth and hard that it made me shiver with delight. I felt Blake move and I braced myself. I heard his wings flap and he pushed upwards. The second my feet left the ground, I held onto his arm as best as I could. Blake didn’t go too high but high enough not to be seen. I wanted to look around me, I wanted to see everything, but the wind kept making my eyes water and I was forced to close them. I was disappointed about that and as Blake flew us to the castle, I thought about what I could do to fix that. Next time I wanted to be able to see everything. I could feel Blake control his speed with his wings and that’s how I knew we had arrived. His slow movements made me open my eyes and I saw him aiming for the large balcony. He landed perfectly and when my feet touched the ground, I hugged his arm. He may not know it; he may think I am too terrified to let go but it was just a sign of affection. Blake released me and I stepped away from him, towards the double glass doors. I pulled them open and stepped inside the bedchamber. I could only assume it was his. I set my bag down alongside the large king-sized bed and spotted a dark red robe laying on the bed. I quickly snatched it and hurried back outside. Blake was still in his dragon form and I laid the robe over the railing and went back inside. As much as I would love to watch him shift back into his human form, I decided to give him some privacy. I sat down on the dark brown material bench in front of his bed and waited. It took him literally seconds and he entered the room wearing the robe. “Blake, before you say anything, I just want to say how truly magnificent you are,” I rushed out. “The only issue I have is that I couldn’t see anything,” I pouted as I gazed up at him. “Why? Was my arm in the way?” he asked, concerned and I shook my head. “The wind made my eyes water,” I explained. “Oh, next time you should wear goggles,” he suggested, and I nodded. Of course, goggles! “I mean, if you want there to be a next time,” “I do!” I exclaimed. Blake smiled as he pulled me into his arms, and I melted against the warmth he provided. “I’m really happy you didn’t leave,” he whispered as he caressed my cheek with his fingers. I blushed at his words and tried to look down, but he stopped me. “I mean it, Dawn,” he leaned in and I closed my eyes. The feel of his lips against mine was something I was quickly starting to love. The way his tongue gently brushed against my lips, silently asking for me to part. I sigh loudly as I give him want, he wants and slowly part my lips so that he can explore my mouth with his tongue. I grab onto his arms and hold on as he takes me onto a new kind of high. I can feel his upper arm muscles flex as he tastes me, and I shudder in his arms as wave after wave of pleasure courses through my body. When we finally break apart, I breathe in deeply as I desperately needed air. I felt hot and as I looked up at Blake, I felt myself fall just a bit more. This creature was quickly stealing my heart and I was a willing participant. ✩✩✩ I woke up to the sound of Bailey putting on the kettle. “I am so happy you didn’t leave,” she gushed out when she saw me sit up. I smiled warmly at my roommate and stretched lazily. “Yeah?” “Yeah, I don’t think I would be able to handle Josephine without you,” she stated. “Oh! By the way, we have the day off,” “We do?” “Yes, apparently Lord Blake ordered for more staff to be hired and so Josephine gave a couple of us the day off,” Bailey explained. I looked under my pillow for my phone and checked the time. “That’s great Bailey, but then why are you up so early?” I questioned. “Because I have a date,” she informed me with a sweet smile. I raised a curious eyebrow. “With Kayne,” she added, and I nodded. “Well, have fun on your date,” I said as I laid back down. I was more than willing to go back to sleep. “What do you think you are doing?” she asked as she came over to the bunk bed. I felt her tug on my blanket and I quickly grabbed it, holding onto it. “Blake will probably want to spend time with you,” “And I’d love that, but it is still too early,” I argued as struggled to get her to leave the corner of the blanket. “Fine! Sleep!” she called out before letting go. I flopped back and sighed. It was no use, I was awake. I groaned out loud as I shoved the blanket off and climbed out of bed. “You will pay…” I threatened her as I made my way to our bathroom. I heard Bailey giggling and I rolled my eyes before closing the door behind me. She has a date, but I didn’t. Although my evening with Blake had been spectacular, he hasn’t mentioned any plans for today. Maybe he didn’t know I had the day off? On top of everything, I wanted to remind him about the potion I had overheard Josephine and Gloria discussing. Now that we were officially in a relationship (yes, he asked me to be his girl) I wanted him to be careful. I finished up in the bathroom and got dressed. Bailey was sipping on her coffee, entertaining herself with her phone and I couldn’t help but smile. What were the odds of both of us finding love with the Lord and Second in command? I shook my head as I said goodbye to her and headed to Blake’s bedchamber. I wasn’t sure if he would be up already, but I would find him, one way or another. As I neared the corner, I overheard a loud voice. I froze as I recognized it as Blake’s voice. “Are you insane!” “No, my Lord,” came a soft feminine reply. I frowned. Who was that he was talking too? “You can’t just waltz up to me in the morning and plant one on me like that,” he hissed out. Plant one on me like that? Wait, did that mean the female had kissed him? “Why not?” she dared to ask him, and I could feel the anger building up inside me. Anger and jealously. Although I was straining to hear his response as it should be, I am in a relationship now. “Because anyone can see,” was the reply he gave, and I felt my heartbreak. Again. “Who cares who sees us?” the female asked, and I quickly wiped away at the tears that fell. “I care! Now, I am giving you fair warning, do not do that again,” Blake ordered. I could hear some shuffling and then the sound of a door closing. I didn’t know what to do with myself as I stood there crying like a fool. When the female suddenly came around the corner, she nearly bumped right into me. “Oh! I didn’t see you!” she said apologetically as she reached out to steady me. It wasn’t necessary and I flinched at the contact. I didn’t recognize her but that didn’t matter. None of it mattered. I turned around and ran back to my room. Bailey was already gone when I got there. I locked the door and breathed in deeply. Maybe Blake would have an explanation for this! I didn’t want to believe that he could do this to me. Not after last night. Not after a night spent kissing, cuddling, and sharing our dreams with each other.
