CHAPTER 2

Finally, after the non lasting ride, they finally made it to school. To Charles, school always felt like a hellhole a person is forced to go to. It’s crowded with people, most of them so grumpy to disturb their beauty and relaxing sleep.     He would have escaped from there if he had a slight choice but then as reality hit him, he sighed, remembering that he had no choice. Because even if he thought about skipping school he would be dead before he knew it. His mom was very strict when it came to his and Charlotte’s education.     Coming back to reality, he bid his father good bye and got out of the car...just to be met with the most deadliest glare he had by then known too well.     Standing by the school entrance was his worst nightmare. Yet, he was the school’s hero, some girls’ fantasy and the biggest jock in the whole world; Jonathan.       Most people would believe that he was a nice and sweet guy but he had been his tormentor since kindergarten and now he had to face him all over again.       ‘Way to start the day’ he thought, grimacing.      Walking over to the school entrance, he made sure the crowd of students in the building was enough to keep them both away. But to his dismay, which was what he expected, Jonathan as always, found a way to get to him.       Suddenly, he found himself being pulled to the side with a strong hand. He let out a loud groan at the strong bump. He rubbed his head, getting away from the lockers. As his eyes were slowly and hesitantly raising up, he was met with a fist colliding with his nose. Surprisingly, it wasn’t as strong as his normal punches. Had he gone weaker since the last year?     A dorky smile and sparkling eyes took him aback. He released a relieved sigh and smiled knowing he was safe with his best friend.      Liam     Even though they together ran to their first class, they were still fifteen minutes late. They entered the class, frowning at the nosiness. Students were talking about football and gossiping loudly all around the class. Charles suspected there were two eating in the corner too.     Ignoring the mess, he was happy their usual seats weren’t taken. They liked sitting in the back since nobody would get to throw paper balls at them from behind.      They silently sat down after a minute or so and then the teacher walked in. He was glad she was later than them, at least there wouldn’t be a reason to get punished.      She was an old woman called Mrs (choose the last name you want Chaz) who taught History. Half of her hair was white and she was probably in her late forties. Her glasses made her look even older.       She stood near her desk, saying her usual mornings. But expectedly, the whole class ignored her like she wasn't even there. She scowled, clearing her thought and mentioning the arrival of a new student, gaining everyone’s attention.     As soon as she finished talking, students around started asking questions regarding that ‘new student’ and loudly negotiating. Of course, the popular boys wanted it to be a girl while the female cheerleaders were wishing it was some famous quarterback.      Unexpectedly, the class’ door was flown open and entered a female. Charles’ eyes twirled around, reaching her in an instant. His mouth slightly opened with a bright sparkle in his irises. She wasn’t just pretty, she was probably the most beautiful girl Charles had ever seen.      There was a warmth her long brown curls brought to her face. Her eyes reminded him of the hot cocoa he used to drink daily as a kid. She was the sort of a soft white, almost translucent. It was if any hint of brown her skin might have had went into the relaxed waves of her hair.     She had a frown on which just made her look cute, making him c***k a smile.
