Mr. Dre, “she began speaking in a low voice, adding that she agreed to the contract and Ariel's operation had been a success, but this deal... ” She was at a loss for words. This was the first thing she said to me; “It feels so cold here I didn’t expect it to feel like this.”

Alison becomes a very unhappy woman after her husband has died and she is now left with three young children and no means of supporting the family or looking after the children. Having some financial problems, things become worse when her youngest daughter Ariel is diagnosed with a severe heart disease. Ariel has to operate and the operation is very costly and Alison has no way of coming anywhere near getting the money for the operation. WIDOWHOOD
ALLISON POV I remained standing there for a few moments with my legs very weak as I gazed at the lifeless body of Andrew. Because the room was so cold and the pain in my nerves so unbearable, I thought I could not endure it any longer; but my face was hot with crying. “Andrew, you can’t die,” I shouted as loud as I could, crying and feeling my blouse wet, “Who will take care of me and the children?” I had swollen purple eyes having cried all night, but I continued – No stopping. It was so silent that they could hear the ticking of the clock and no matter how hard I tried to reason with her about some things in life you simply cannot have, no matter how much you would like to. ‘Allison, my dear, you have to be strong for your children,’ my mother said, softly, and her tears welled in her eyes. “I have to work harder,” I took into my mind and with that wiped the tears off my face. After the period of my vacation, I decided to come back to work at Browns Company Ltd. and I tried my best. The hours, the fatigue, the stress, all of that, I had to do it, there was no other way it could be done. Every pin was tight, and the hardest part was making any kind of expenditure, even the children’s tuition fees. They deserved the best, though watching myself turn into the caricature of a man obsessed by work and little else was sapping my soul a little more with each passing day. I was at work one day and I got a telephone call. I took it thinking it was yet another of the telemarketers who had been calling me for the past weeks. “Hi, ma’am there is Brain Academy, we are about your daughter Ariel.” My blood ran cold for a moment. This bear was instantaneous; it grounded itself in my gut as though it were a boulder. ‘Okay... okay, what has happened?’ I could only stutter some words as my hands clenched the phone. “Unfortunately, Ariel fainted in class today ‘Well’, one may be tempted to say. We are in the process of notifying her next of kin.” Collapsed? My blood ran cold. “Is she okay? What happened?” My voice was so low that I barely spoke and the tone that came out of my mouth belonged to a stranger. The teacher got up one day and said she leaned forward and then…boomo [ fell and became paralyzed ] She does not respond, but we are not giving up on her and are working hard to make her come to.” round and round my head went like crazy: My baby girl… Ariel… collapsed? “I’ll be there in a minute”, I yelled as hard as I could, almost feeling the grating of the words between my teeth. I spoke to my boss and nervously stammering at each word, I told them about the incident that had occurred. They didn’t even blink an eye and let me off saying some things which I barely heard before I left. As crazy as a March Hen, I drove to go and pick up Zara and Gabriel my heart pounding like a drum. It took what seemed like ages for the traffic light to turn green, each second made me realise that I was still far from Ariel. I took the other children back to the nanny and zoomed back to St. Mary’s Hospital with hand shaking. “Doctor, I want to know what is really going on with my daughter?” ” I blurted as I stood in front of Dr. James outside the door of the ER. He sat looking at her sternly, his hands clenched on the table, “Mrs. Allison, I want you to come to my office if you please?” We need to talk. " I followed him obediently, or rather my limbs operated on their own accord most of the time. I started up, my heart pounded, my breath came in short. Print version: The Turning Point: A Story of Trust and Resilience, Donovan Marsh. I thought I should give Chamisa time to breathe after what happened at the stadium, so as soon as we were settled, Dr. James didn’t waste much time. This is embarrassing, the investigations have shown that…your daughter, Ariel, has congestive heart failure. ” Heart failure. They were uttered and I heard my dreams’ funeral bells ringing in my ears. I couldn’t breathe. I felt faint and gripped the edge of the desk. I had the sensation of the room whirling round in front of me. That is when I realised that my mind was blank, I struggled to say: “What… what does that mean?” “It means that her heart is not healthy to support her body’s needs anymore; she will need a new heart as soon as possible.” A heart transplant. My baby needed a heart transplant if she was to survive. During…I felt my eyes start tearing and I could well have cried. “A transplant? But... how...?” “We should move very fast on this, Mrs. Allison,” The doctor resumed gravely. “We have to get her onto the transplant list immediately, each passing moment is important.” ” “That’s where the problem lies you may ask… but …but how much will this cost?” I asked this question almost in a whisper, like, I really did not want the answer. Then, with the air of a man who is about to tell a patient something that would upset him or her more than anything else, Dr James stopped. “The procedure… it will cost $10000.” ” Ten thousand dollars. I got a final blow when I was chosen to hold the microphone. Yeah, I furtively shut my eyes then opened them again to prevent the tears from impairing my sight: they refused to cease. “I... I don’t have that kind of money,” I shouted to make sure everyone heard me cry on the bathroom floor silently. “I have not even been paid yet and if I was paid it would not be enough!” “I know this is an issue,” the doctor said softly, “But we need the p*****t in a week or …” He did not utter a single word, but they echoed in my mind. Time was running out. My daughter was running out of time. I gazed at him, my hands trembled violently. “Or what, Doctor? Tell me!” That, and the an an apprehensive look in his eyes told everything. If I was unable to come up with the money, then Ariel wouldn’t be able to survive. My world crumbled around me. The only thing I could do was sit paralyzed watching helplessly as the weight of desperation began to sink in my chest. Where was I to get the $10, 000 in 7 days? I stood up, numb and broken, my mind filled with a singular thought: I have to save my daughter. No matter what it takes.
