Ares seemed reluctant to leave in the morning, and I was expecting him to tell me he had changed his mind about telling people, or that he didn’t want to go back today. We had decided to speak to Zaahra privately at first, but in the end, Ares said he thought it would be best if Rayden was there. I wasn’t sure if that was because he wanted someone there to witness whatever she said, or if he thought she was less likely to try and hurt him again with Rayden there. He knew exactly how to keep distracting me. Every time I tried to get up he would kiss me and run his hands over my body and it made it nearly impossible for me to leave him.
