I was intrigued by what Lena had just said to me.
I had suspected that Zaahra had been through something traumatic, and this seemed to confirm my suspicions.
“Ares told me that Zaahra made it very clear she wanted to be his only mate. It was part of whatever agreement the pair of them have. When he told me I thought it was just her being spoiled, but now I think she asked that for a reason and I guess that is going to make this harder. I guess that this is probably her worst nightmare - sharing him with me when I am the one he loves.”
I was trying to get Lena to open up to me and reveal what she knew about Zaahra, but she saw through my attempt and responded vaguely before muttering that she should go back.
I didn’t stop her, and so she shuffled away and I was left in the field alone
