It was easy to master using the crossbow Rayden had given me with Ares helping. As soon as I had been shown how to load it and how to aim I was more than capable of using it just as effectively as my regular bow and it was obvious why both men had been so excited about it when Rayden revealed it to me. It was an extremely powerful weapon, and easy to use.
The entire thing was as long as my forearm, but it took as much power to load as my regular bow had used to draw, and the shots it fired would obviously be lethal.
We didn’t pursue any living creatures - we spent most of the afternoon picking out increasingly challenging targets for each other to hit until it started to get a little dark and Ares decided it was time to go back so we could eat something.
