I didn’t talk much as we walked back to the camp. I had no idea how many people would be there or how they lived, but I knew that Zaahra would be waiting for Ares and that there was a chance the others would tell Ares I was unacceptable. I had no idea what would happen to me if that happened. Ares could tell them we talked, and that he had decided I could join them, but they had every right to disagree and that would leave me in a dangerous position.
