“I didn’t think white wolves existed anymore.” The boy sounded in awe of me, and I told him I wasn’t really a white wolf, and he looked awkward about it and mumbled an apology. “Did they really find you alone?” I suppose it was only natural that they had spoken about finding me when they got back, but I was uncomfortable thinking about what they had been told. Did Rayden tell his nephew they found a savage white wolf living in filth alone? Or that I was some sort of mythical creature who didn’t need a pack to help me survive? “Yes.” “Are you really joining us?” I glanced around the site - it was just me and the boy left outside now, the others had either gone out as wolves or retired to the privacy of their own tents for the night.
