“I didn’t mean for that to happen.” Ares sounded serious. He got out of the bed and picked up the clothes he had discarded as I slipped beneath the blanket and pulled it up around myself. It was warm and soft - I guessed it was made from some sort of fine wool. “Neither of us meant for it to happen.” He hadn’t been accusing me of anything, but I did not want him to try and blame himself for what had just happened. “We shouldn’t be alone like this. I find you impossible to resist, it was never going to end well.” That was obvious to me, and it must have been obvious to him. I had to stay here for my safety, but he didn’t have to join me.
