I still wasn’t really sure what Ares was planning on doing when we got back to the rest of the pack, but as he held me close to him I struggled to calm myself down enough to go to sleep.
My mind was racing and the thoughts I was finding it difficult to subdue were a mixture of anxious concern and excitement because I was scared of how the others would react, but I was relieved that I wouldn’t have to try to hide this anymore.
